that might of been it... I burned at 4x, I thought slower burn was better...

Not always and many discs dont support it. I used to use Fuji which supported 4x burn but for the past year have been using Maxell which are 8x discs. At first I tried to burn at 4x and they were all coasters then realised I had to burn at 8x (which XBOX can read fine despite the BS posts you may see crying 4x or f#&@ off) and theyve worked great ever since for me

I'll try burning it again at 8x next time and redo your instructions... also do you have any idea why I'm getting that FTP... 0.1a alpha... thing when I use the controller to restart the xbox?

I got the dash to work, but XBMC still has a error when I try to install it... I went and tried to run it as a app and I get a red error message saying
Network cable unplugged
unable to init network, retrying in # seconds
btw I cleared cache's before each install, and I don't have it hooked up to a network.

That is very weird, I had no issue installing XBMC in my tests. Im honestly at a loss here because as can be seen in my vids XBMC works fine. Only thing I can figure is the file must have somehow gotten corrupted. How I dont know but I cant figure another logical explanation. Chip or soft the app install is the same so it should react the same on my softmod XBOX as your hardmod XBOX

Use CXBOX-Tools to extract the ISO then open Files and extract XBMC and FTP it over
