I'll try burning some discs on my new burner later,
But for now im just trying to make sure the drive even reads fine~Which is proving harder that expected...
The xbox i just received was supposed to be "fully functional, Just add a PSU" But the motherboard seems to be DOA.
So now im trying to get this sucker to work. >.<
Had a blown cap at Q7G1, Replaced it, Nothing.
Everything else looks fine, I'm assuming there was a power surge or something as the purchase didnt include a PSU, And there is modifications in the case next the PSU location for some reason.

It would seem the problem is more then just not reading media and then you pay 30 bucks for a shot xbox and for 15 dollars more you could have got one that works from game stop.
Are you sure you did not drop the xbox or something, that error 9 and not reading any disks just seems odd?

*UPDATE*
After trying to get the above mentioned motherboard to work (Never did, Pretty sure one of the main chips fried),
I got worn out on dealing with xbox modding/fixing~So not much has been done since the last post.
I did get a $10 refund for the doa board in the end, so i got the Samsung drive for $15 which is great.
My burner (the one i used to make the discs) recently stopped reading discs and then stopped working altogether.
So it may have not been burning properly...
Hopefully this has been the problem, And as soon as i get a new burner~I'm hoping to be up and running.

Just thought I would let you know, after reading this now, the LG drive ...was it an 8163 or and 8164 drive? If it was, it is modded to read all media at 16x speed. It was originally a regular computer drive with flashed firmware to it. It's a nice upgrade for this reason. If you have an ata133 hd in there, and you put the LG drive in it also it increases you bus speed up to ata100, so you will have faster game/media loading in comparison to the stock ata66(I think, but it was suprising low for what the console was capable of doing and what it did have to do for so many game loads off the dvd drive).
