When you telnet into a V1.6 the telnet programming for Chimp has a default ip of 192.168.0.3, This is why I say to put your box into a static ip over the .3 so that the telnet doesnt freak out.. anything between 192.68.0.5 to 192.168.0.20 is a good spot.. Make sure your not making a static ip that is the same ip as any other equipment on your network. They will cancel each other out and you will have conflicts.......
The port for telnetting that needs to be forwarded on your Firewall is port 23 that is the default port for telnetting....So your firewall doesnt reject it......
If you don't like chimping then you can also use your linux disc to clone your drive...I prefer chimp it is simpler... _________________
