Ok thanks man, ill keep my eyes open.

One more question. Could I install the 3 chips i have now onto my xbox? Would it hurt anything not to have that 1 chip there?

I think it's all or nothing, but don't quote me on that. I think it has something to do with the bios specifically looking for a set amount of memory, not how much. Now cromwell/linux might not have a problem with it. I'd hate to say yes, and it doesn't work for you and the system is idle until you get the other IC chip.

take a close look at your soldering connections, all it takes is one stupidl little solder bridge between pins to frag the xbox, use a magnifying glass, whether its the big type or a small one. I know from taking electronics sometimes(but very rare) the flux can bridge pins as well, so clean all that solvent up as well Smile

Here you go Bad Dude...

http://www.xboxrepairguide.com/64mb-memory-chip-p-769.html

This is the same site that wes linked you to, but it is just the four chips and the seller saying he/she will install it for you for $40. I guess all you have to do is send them your board.

Yeah and I'm not sure how often the actually do stock stuff. I never check up on it, I just know what they have in case I need it. If Bad Dude already has te chips though he can just send the mobo and the chips if he wants to pay the $40 install fee and shipping.

Yeah I would definitely wait until I got a go ahead from a site administrator before I sent my stuff to them. I'm sure you're that smart though. I really want that mod myself for my N64 Emu, but I can't see myself paying $40 plus shipping for that. I would have better luck getting a computer store or one of my buddies around here to do it. At least then, I can keep an eye on the process.

Man I've been looking everywhere for a 166 cable. Where did you find one and how much was it. I did find one, but it was like $20 not including shipping. I don't know why a simple cable has been so hard for me to find.

Dkoots I got this one http://secure.llamma.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=64_27&products_id=260

It has worked pretty good, not a huge impact on load times, more on backing up my games to my hard drive

Thanks for the link Fro. That's actually the only one I can find. I can find 100 and 133 all day long for around $10 shipped, but I just don't see paying $20 for that if it's not going to help that much. I really do want it for the backups and what not. Maybe I'll find one sooner or later from another Pc or something.
