nope, no ftp, no AID disc, no nothin', it only boots games...
... but fixed it:
my Crystal Xbox hasn't got his screws in it,
so throwed it open,
booted into a menu with broken xbox,
booted in avalanche toolset with crystal xbox,
took out ide of hdd from broken one and put in the ide cable of crystal xbox (hotswap),
booted AID disc from there, installed softmod...
... et voila, softmod runs fine now and no data lost on F or G,
few... but sweeeeet
(PS: I went Ndure because it's possible to play ISO's from hdd, and I got one game that doesn't work in filemode: Toca Race Driver 3, and I play all my games from hdd to spare my dvd-drive...)

If anyone i know asks me to mod there xbox and thay dont know what an iso is or how to run the pc without tech help i use a chip so i dont need to fix the thing every other day.
that hard drive is such a mess,
there were sooo many dvd2xbox... folders with the dvd-video files of Xbox games... probably he or the person who did the 1st softmod tried to make backup of games with pc dvd-drive and thought he ftp'ed the game to the Xbox...

I'm thinking about it, but won't have the time to do it...
I've got two v1.0 Xboxes with ST Tsop (too bad not Sharp, cause those can hold a 1024kb bios...),
but if I make them write accessable and flash them,
I will only have hacked dash?
no more dual boot possible?
cause I like it to boot into MS dash with tray open,
and hacked dash normally powered on...

A tsop on a 1.0 without the sharp chip can hold 2 bios on it check this out, dual booting tsop.

lol, poor mans ...
don't people pay more for integrated all in one stuff, I like it
less risk of bad installation...
well I've tsop'ed a v1.0 Xbox (with ST chip), but without switch, so no dual boot (do you have a switch? how did you mount it?),
you can even make a switch to turn write protection on/off, but is that really necessary, saw person write about fear of something writing to BIOS?! is that a real danger? it's not that MS would have a game that checks ur BIOS and could write to it?!
I've put X2.4983 BIOS on it, since that the latest 256kb X2 BIOS,
if I understand correctly, the Xbox checks that the four 256kb BIOSes (in 1MB BIOS bin file) are the same at boot, and a larger than 256kb is not possible,
but with that BIOS I can't play ISO's directly from hard disk...
is there a BIOS that can?
I've tried to put that softmod with X2 bios on it, but the shadowC stays visible, never goes invisible after reboot... so no way of getting the softmod to work with X2 BIOS, I guess I'll have to get a switch and use dual boot... but don't have a drill, only a cutting grip right here...

but that's a bit over the top, but would look advanced, cause you'd have 3 switches (2 for splitting BIOS, 1 to turn on/off write protection),
I'm first going for one switch and retail MS and X2 BIOS,
so I can install softmod to retail MS (cause that's the only way I know to play ISO's on hdd), and have the advantage of Modchip with the X2 BIOS,
nice

Im not sure about the flashed tsop and a softmodded MSdash but i dont see why you cant do that.
You really dont need a write protection on/off just get the xbox running the way you want it to run and remove the 2 solder point you joind to flash the tsop.
