By any chance, are you using a D-Link 524? I've had TWO of those POS routers crap out on me, just like you're saying... the 514 was way better. Oh, and Filezilla rules! I use their server, too. It runs on my webserver so I can remotely update my site. I also use it as a source for some select xbox files, and I have a no-ip so I can get those files from anywhere the net works! Filezilla FTW! And most D-Links are good, just not that one.

Haha Filezilla users unite. lol. If you can't get your router workin again tury70 you can get a hub for like $20 at walmart and sometimes they have Linksys routers on sale pretty cheap and if you live close to a small PC store they usually have some bad@$$ deals. _________________

LOL me too man. I wont buy anything other than Linksys when it comes to routers and hubs. I had this cheap ass hub and it burned out after a few months and I went and bought a Linksys hub and it has worked ever since without a problem and I bought at least two years ago if I remember correctly. _________________

Question about the CHIMP program.Do i need to fomate the HDD before i clone it or will it formate itself??When i switch the dvd ide cable from the xbox to the new HDD,do i need to do it fast?Im in prosses to do it but i ran into a problem,one of the power pins of the new HDD broke off and i need to solder it back but dont have a solder.I have to wait till tomorrow to do it.Also before it broke off,i try doing the CHIMP but the xbox did not reconize it,can any one tell me why?I have it on slave and the HDD is a WESTERN DIGITAL

If there is nothing on the drive you dont need to format it but if there is some ol info on it i wold format it.
The faster you can swap it out the better off you are, you can just leve the hdd cable kind of loose to make the swap ez.
Check the modle # for me again, i cant seem to find that modle on any of the xbox hdd lists.

I did it!!!!! I did the hot swap using CHIMP2.4 and it works.It took me 10 trys but i finnally did it.Now i have a bigger HDD,now what app do i use to back up my game?Also,how do i set up my xbox with my computer?Is the a instructions on this?Thanks!!!

You can use Qwix to back up ur games to ur PC as well.
U can use FlashFXP to FTP to connect to ur XBOX from PC. Just run an ethernet cable from ur PC to XBOX for direct connect. Or u can run a router and hook up ur XBOX and PC to the router. _________________

You need a crossover cable to do the direct connect. Its easier just to use a router though. That tutorial covers everything. _________________

Just bridg the USB network adapter and you ethernet card and you dont need a cross over as long as the xbox can pick up a dhcp.
