Do you have access to another computer that you can try the disk in just to make sure that it is a good burn? _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

i guess i could try it on someone elses computer, because mine does blow. but i did disable and disconnect the floppy so i do not understand. and when i load the burnt disc at school the liniux.iso is the only file in there and it does look correct so i do not know what to do. As a completely different question. i got an x-chip and i looked around about this and i found out that with a secret bios you can make a backup eerom or something like that. and it went into detail about how to fix a problem similar to mine, but i would need to download a secret bios. my question is does anyone know where i could download this "secret bios". i look around and found out the bios i need:Evox X-Chip Bios 1.0 : but i can not find it anywhere to download it. can some one help.

OK, There's the problem. What you need to do is, using DVD-decrypter (FREE) burn the linux.iso to a cd. When you do this it will unpack the .iso and put the boot files along with the data folders, all in the right places. The boot files are what allows the cd to be bootable, right now none of the files are even accessable without an ISO Explorer.
You can use any software that will burn an ISO, but I reccomend DVD-Decrypter. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Okay, i still got a problem. Well first of all the cd now works. so i did everything right and finally got it to load. my computer is a piece. anyways. when i actually got it to work it went all the way until it asked me to copy the c folder. i picked yes and it said "building c drive..." and it stayed like that for like 30 min. so i tried to type and it let me. i typed yes and ok a couple times then i just started typing stupid crap. Then i just walked away from the computer after awhile i came back and it was actually working, but then it filled in all the things i typed and i thought i screwed it all up. so after it was done i went back and did it again, just to make sure it was done. and it completed it, much faster. It said it was done so i powered of the xbox and computer. put the hd back in the xbox to see if it worked, but it didnt. so i tried it again. after the cd finally loaded and worked it way through the program. it now says that my drive does not have a "partition table." And it will not let me rebuild it with out one. do you know of a way to get a new table or another way around this. please help.

Yeah, You need to Hotswap again. In HDM you need to choose option 5 (I believe) It will rebuild the partition table. you will need to reboot (and re-HotSwap to get the HDD unlocked again) so you can rebuild the HDD. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

okay guys... I went home.. finally got the thing to work. unlocked the drive and everything. got to the xboxhd screen and i choose option "1". It said searching for xbox partition table. then it said there is not table. and said press any button to close. It only aborts when i press enter. SO i did what you said and i choose 5 which was to wipe the table for creating a new drive. so i said yes. it wiped my table and then i tried to do option 1 again and it did not work. Later i took my girlfriends xbox and tried to do the clone a drive option. and i set it up okay right drives to everything. and i initiated it last night. it said go have a beer this could take awhile. i started it around 10:45pm. and i just decided to go to bed. when i woke up for school at 7:00am. it was still going.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So WTF? WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING FOR ME. Why is the xbox not able to create a new one. and how long will it take to clone a drive? I am confused!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone post like a guide for me to use and maybe some time ranges.(I already read Pirrups tutorial), because my drives were plugged in for ever like 8 hours. is that harmful? please someone respond. i am so close to fixing my xbox and i do not want to f' up know
