man, ever since ive moved into where i live now (about 10 years ago) ive had a total of 4 dogs.

first one, we got about the 2nd year i lived here. It was a german shepard/akita mix. it was the most calm dog ive ever had. It's name was Ben. It died a little over three months of us owning him due to parvo (i think thats what it was) when we got him, i think he was sick already, but i loved that dog.

the second dog, a pure breed bloodhound. that thing was a beast. we had him for over a year, until we finally realized that he needed more than the back yard we offered him. My dad has a friend with a 100 acre plus farm in Kansas. We drove Copper out there one summer. Hes been there ever since. I beleive that was the right thing to do, although i really miss him still today, i believe he is much better off there to run and hunt as he pleases. (as a background note, i live on a corner of a street, and have a old time 100 plus year old farm house wtih a huge barn and about 4 acres of land total.) Copper would always run around in the yards of neeighbors and i dont think they were as understanding as Copper thought. I've made one visit to him since he left us, and am planning another one over this summer.

Our third one, we had for about a year and a half. Jack (3/4 jack russel, and one fourth beagal) liked to run and hunt small things like rabbit. He was a fun dog, he wouldnt EVER let my mom wake me up in the morning, i really loved him for that Laughing (my mom would go up the stairs and he would run up before her, jump on my bed, and growl at her) my dad took him to work everyday to run around the yard he worked at (he works at a construction company running the yard keeping track of paychecks, equipment, tools, etc) anyway, its still not completly clear, but to the best of my understanding, he was stolen by a guy that moved to indiana. he was a good hunting dog and the guy that is the aledged thief wanted us to let him borrow him for a trip or to breed.

Our current dog, Joe (pure golden retriever) reminds me alot of Ben. Him and Ben were the only dogs we could let outside and them not run away. Joe isnt quite as calm as Ben was, (which sometimes is a good thing). We've had him since about October, he seems like he is going to be around for a while. (i personally take him to the vet every three weeks). I only wish that we would have had one of them longer than we had, i really hate thinking about it, becuase the idea of a dead animal kills me on the inside, let alone the idea of anyone of the ones ive loved, bathed, taken care of, etc...

i know exactly how you feel. although i havnt had any for a real significant amount of time, i feel for you right now.

sorry to hear that, i really do know the pain of losing a fury little friend.

What kind of dog was he, if i may ask Wink

He was a Min Pin

I can see it now, but the his color and thickness made him really unique looking. If you look in the car discussion you can see he was my favorite color too.

again condolences man.

Sorry if that came across the wrong way mate Embarassed

What I'm trying to say is that this is one of the sad facts of life, and something we all have to go through at some stage, weather we want to or not.

I understood, you don't have to correct yourself. It will just be hard.

Sorry to hear the bad news lads.

I had i dog that was 18ys old and we had to put her down .
Fuk i still think of her every time i go to my parents house, she was the family dog , but she got to old to go on.
The best thing for her was to put her down.( i dont think she would of lived for much longer anyway)

My parents wont get another dog anymore, its like losing a member of the family

keep on keepn on.
