Thanks for providing a wonderful platform to post all these questions.

So, I've been out the loop a while, i was thankful enough to be part of the great xbox mod rush back in the earlier two thousands and the main questions i really have to ask first is.. has anything changed at all?

Back when i did it i was doing it via what might be considered the old school Mech Assault exploit route, installed the custom dash.. updated it to the latest version swapped out the hard disk with chimp and bobs your uncle all set to have as much XBMC or emulator fun as i wished.

Now, is there a method i could use that's possibly better? quicker? less pissing around? or am i good to stick with that method and just let the dash auto update as normal? will it even auto-update still?

My final questions involve methods of modding to add RCA connectors in the rear of the console... I have seen a couple of HD composite connectors floating around, is it possible to wire in composite HD connectors too i wonder? anybody got any info on that at all?

Also, when it comes to adding these connectors? what type of cabling is generally being used? can i just use run of the mill Kynar to solder them in? and what will i need for the grounding? something thicker?

Any help on these topics would be super, thanks again folks
and i salute you all for your patience, my brains not so nimble as it was but hopefully you guys can jog my brain a bit as it's been an age since i was playing with classic xbox hardware.

regards

jb
