So with a TON of help from sppv (Thanks!) I was able to re-softmod my Crystal Xbox with a new HDD via his SID5 Pimped v7 which is a great build! I noticed after performing the mod (which included the installation of the HF pack) my visuals really weren't fantastic. Everything looked kinda blurry especially the fonts (sort of like looking at a 3-D movie with the glasses off). I double-checked my settings, made sure 480p, 720p, 1080i were all enabled in both XBMC and the stock M$ dash and the problem remained. Finally some intense googling led me to the unorthodox solution and I thought I'd post it in case anybody else had this problem.
The solution was this, connect S-video. As odd as it sounds, if you experience this problem:
Leave your component cables running to wherever they need to go.
(Amp, TV, wherever.)
Connect S-video to a spare input anywhere on your TV, Amp, VCR. So if you are using a Cable that has both component and s-video plug the s-video in somewhere. If you're using the Advanced A/V Pack (like I am) connect and s-video cable and plug it in somewhere.
It sounds crazy but it totally worked. I plugged an s-video cable from the A/V pack to a dead-end in my VCR and when viewing over the component cables everything was crystal clear!
I'll admit it's a bit of a PITA but I didn't want to downgrade to a normal component cable and lose my optical audio out.
Now if I can just figure out the settings to properly stream HD video.....
