I recently ran out of room on the Xbox I use daily, it's my baby it is a true v1.0 I bought new for 300$ or 400$ when it came out way back when but it still runs like a champ I take it apart every so often to clean and dust I'm pretty picky about my electronics. It has a 300GB Western Digita 5400 RPM HD, an original Xecuter 3 not the CE version, and finally a Samsung Ver.B DVD Rom Drive w/ ATA 100/133 cable. Oh yeah and a 12v Blue Led Fan Mod I also cut out the metal shroud on the inside of the xbox to help airflow, it never goes above 110* most of the time since my place is pretty cool it runs about 103* anyway enough with the specs, I ran out of room mostly due to my massive TV and Video collection so realizing that their is still a lot I want and don't have I would need to replace this HD with one at least twice its size so I decided to go with a 1TB Drive, I figure that should be be plenty for me. So my current project is after all this text to replace my HD to a 1TB Western Digital Green, which will require a converter. In addition I am also adding a couple plexiglass windows, another fan or 2, a new jewel, Some extra ram however that will be another project, a new custom paintjob (I not a pro painter but I do have some pro training, it should look sick) and finally some well placed Leds I dont want my Xbox to look like a FUCKIN SPACESHIP just a... well I guess you could compare to a well done Tuner car, the kind of Tuner car a Muscle car enthusiast would appreciate. I am 50% done collecting parts, paint, etc I plan on posting pics soon. As I rebuild this box hopefully this will double a a good tutorial for at least 1 other person hopefully more. All comments/ideas welcome however that does not mean use any of them, I have my mind set on how this is going to look, but you never know maybe one of you has an idea that I never thought it's been known to happen every now and then. Ill be back to this as soon as I have something interesting to post, peace for now.

Sounds like you have pimped out your xbox that's for sure man.. lol
Good stuff.. Glad to hear it. Mine are pimped out too..

You could look into getting a NAS Server for your homenetwork.. That is a much better option once you start getting TB's of data that you want to store and watch..

I use & recommend a QNAP.. Even bottom of the range SOHO model will work fine for most users.. It streams all your content to your XBOX1, 360, PS3 etc etc and also allows you to map network drives from your pc and access your data directly. - http://www.qnap.com

I myself have 2 xboxes, one with a 500gb hdd and the other with a 250..
I ran out of space along long time ago... lol. So a NAS was the next best thing for me.

enjoy the sites everyone,

hobbs

Yeah, it's certainly not a bad idea, I may consider that in the near future, however I still want build a beastly box more for the fun of it but im sure you understand being a hobbyist yourself, but I do like the idea it has crossed my mind before, being that I have several xboxs and a few of them still have stock drives in them ROTFL! I really need to do something with them why does anyone one person need 6 Xboxs 2 or 3 for sure? Maybe i'll sell them the others they really are just big paperweights right now.
