i bought a modded xbox 2 days ago and when i was surfing files i accidentaly clicked on a .xbe file,, not sure of the name, i think it was something like defaultxbe.xbe,, then i saw a message saying something like "updating the xbox with xbox live" , i wasnt connect to the net so i didnt really care, bt now each time i restart the xbox im stuck with the xbox live green screen,and there is no way to get back to dashboard,,, al, i dont even see my dashboard.. i cant do NOTHING,,,can someone help me ? im very new

its soft modded, all i can do is putting real games on the dvd drive and play them,, there is no way to access other games on my hdd , like i said im stuck at the xbox live screen

Try downloading the auto installer disk if you haven't already and boot your XBOX from that. That message you are getting if from your M$ dash on the C:. If you boot from the autoinstaller, you should get an IP..you can either manually replace your C: files or use the auto installer (easier) and rebuild your M$ dash. _________________ My Setup:

also, how im supose dto get an ip if the xbox isnt even connected to the net..

If its connected to a network inside your house, you would get an IP...so you can FTP from your PC and replace any files that you deleted....but nevermind that. Just get the autoinstaller disk, burn it as per the instructions, and pop it in. It should load up and there are options in there to install the M$ Dash on your C:. _________________ My Setup:

ok thanks, but whats the name of that auto installer ? and will this erase all my programs and games on my hdd ?

Its called AutoInstaller Deluxe. If you look at the top of this screen, there is a link called AIDeluxe.com...looks like its offline at the moment. If you google autoinstaller deluxe, you will get lots of places to download it from. You don't even need to make sure you have the latest version, version 2, 3, or 4 will work for what you need. _________________ My Setup:

All your info will stay on the hdd you wont muck any of that up with aid unless you run the hdd formating app.
If for any reson your xbox wont boot the aid disc then you can try unhooking you xbox from the net, slap in an xbox live game and select to go on live and it will install an xbox dash for you.
If you do it this way you might need to re softmod the xbox but your info will still be on the hdd.

i already have an xbox dashboard ,what happens is now when i boot up the xbox i just see the main menu of the xbox, and i've heard u need a xbox memory card to softmod using aids installer, wich i dont have. oh and my xbox doesnt recognize the aids cd-rw thats i've burnt, is there any hopes for me

Like i said thare is hope for the xbox it sounds like you just trashed the softmod.
You will need to get a memm card(stock xbox and madcatz seem to work best, AR seems to give folks a lot of crap) and re install the soft mod to get back in to the hdd.
