I installed cameleon modchip in my xbox. I tried it whit the original HDD, and it worked fine. The blue light was on, and on start it displayed executer2 on the tv. I booted with slayer 2.5 auto install, and took a backup of my bios or whatever you take a backup of. This backup is on the original HDD. Then I inserted the new HDD (120GB), booted once again from the cd, and I selected choice 3: Install a new HDD. Then I was so dumb that I selected choice 2: Install everything on F:, and the chip had to be able to boot from F:.....
Now the xbox boot, executer2 displays on tv for some seconds, but the blue light is not on anymore, and then i get the MS dashboard with the live option now. I have tried to boot from cd, but it won't. I have tried to boot with the old original HDD but the same result. I have tried to boot without HDD and get "ooops something is wrong" errorcode 7, but that is because of the missing HDD.
I have also tried to boot from bank 2, and with the setting that should put the modchip in stealth mode.
Have my bios been upgraded? What can I do to fix this?
Can i flash my modchip bios back to it original or to working state with the xbox?

The hacked bios resides on the modchip. Your Xbox Bios resides on the TSOP unless of course you have a 1.6 which has no TSOP.
So, I am doubting that your original microsoft bios has been damaged unless you did something specific about your TSOP.
What version machine do you have?
What is the boot process of your modchip? How do you boot with modchip disabled, and enabled?
It's okay that you installed stuff on your F drive, but you also need to install your hacked dash on your F drive then too if that is where your modchip looks for the dash files.
Your MS Dash resides on the C drive and the MS bios looks there. There is a lot of people these days wanting to install dash on the F drive as they are afraid MS will scan their C drive and see evox files and ban them. Personally, that has never happened to me.
Since you are going to the MS Dash after boot, it sounds like your modchip isn't enabling.
Can anyone contribute to this. Sorry I have never used this chip and am unfamiliar with it.

OKay, here is what happened. Without changing some options on the chameleon modchip, it cannot boot from the f drive. Therefor you put a bios on the chip that looks to boot from an area it cant read without the correct changes. Thats why when you put in the old hdd you had the same result with it not booting evox, and when the chip looked for the msdash verson it was looking for, insatlled on the new hdd not the old, it couldnt find anything and gave you the no hdd error code.
YOu need to reflash the chip and reformat the hdd to get it to work properly. Or you can change the settings on the chip, but I'm not sure as to how it needs to be set up to boot from f.
