hey Targetboy,

It must be just you mate.. (sorry to say Sad )... Dont worry your nearly there.. We havent had any replys from our other 120+ VIP members who have downloaded the XBHQAI installer so i can say that you must be doing something wrong..

Quote:
Unit booted just fine, but this time when I went to
Launch Apps this time I was able to get to all area, and more
I successfully ripped the game to HD, (I assume it loaded to F because it had 72gig space left, competed and ran I re-booted the Xbox and the EvoX game up just fine but when I looked at the option, games on drive nothing was listed….

If i was you i would:
1. format your new HDD Smile
2. Install EVOX to C:\
3. Install APPS to E:\
4. Reboot your xbox
5. Setup a IP ADDRESS FOR YOUR XBOX
There are many tutorials on the site on how to ftp to your xbox..
You can setup your xbox ip address in the system settings area of evox dashboard.. Once you have done this dont forget to choose save and exit.. You will then have to reboot your xbox before the ip address will be vald.
6. FTP into your xbox and make sure everything is setup as per the autoinstaller. All you have to do is view the E:\ parititon and make sure all the apps are installed.. There should be all the apps installed to your xbox under:

e:\apps\xbmc\default.xbe
e:\apps\dvd2xbox\default.xbe
etc etc..

7. Use DVD2XBOX to copy a xbox game to your XBOX HDD.
8. Reboot your xbox
9. evox will now search your hdd from newly add games
10. The games will show up in your PLAY GAMES FROM HDD menu option.

If you games arent showing up then your evox.ini file (c:\evox.ini) on your xbox is not looking up the e:\games f:\games g:\games directories properly.. You can edit this evox.ini by transfering the file to your pc using FLASHFXP (FTP) and then edit and return (copy) it back to your xbox..

anyway, just trying to explain things a little easier..

hope that helps some what.

good luck

ok im upgrading to 1.3 and i was hoping that it would support a 160 gig hdd and i reformatted it and g: drive is still 0
hard disk info
lock disabled
free space c: 524.189.696
free space E: 5.118.607.360
free space F: 129.403.060.225
free space G: 0
free space X: 786.300.928
free space Y: 786.300.928
free space Z: 786.300.928

and when i choose it to format large hdd it only does c:,e:and f: it doent cycle through g: drive

so all of this doesnt add up to 160 gig so why cant i use g: drive

Actually it does format G, I should know coz I wrote the script myself.

Taken from my evox.ini installer script:

Info "Format Large Hard Drive"
Warning " Make a backup if nessecary"
Progress "Formatting Large Hard Drive"
ConfigSector "\disk.bin"
Format c:
Format e:
Format f:
Format g:
Format x:
Format y:
Format z:

Here are the only things I can think of that could be the problem:

1) The Evox M8 BIOS. I know there are two versions of this (one for xbox 1.0-1.5 and another is for xbox 1.6 only). However, from memory they both should support G Drive.

2) Your Xbox / Modchip. If it's an older Xbox maybe it's having probs with using a BIOS with G Drive support.

A question definately needed to be asked of you is have you used a G Drive with any other installer, and if so was this before you put on the EvoX M8 BIOS.

Let us know as soon as you can...

Hi TargetBoy,

So,

Can you boot backups yet?? If you can boot the XBOXHQ AUTOINSTALLEr then that means your modchip is flashed perfectly.. Smile

So your nearly there.

It depends what HDD size you have on where you want to install evox..

I have a 160gb HDD in my xbox so i install like this.
1. Choose INS/UPGRADE EVOX 3921 Dashvoard to c:/ and all other apps to f:/
2. Once its finished you take out the XBOX HQ AUTO INSTALLER DISC and reboot your xbox..
3. The evox dashboard should now com eup straight away.

thats it..

You have alot to learn really but dont be scared to ask mate. We are all friendly here and willing to help you..

l8r mate and hope to hear ya kickin ass soon

Hm, very interesting...

I thought maybe it could've been the M8 bios with an old xbox, or that the M8 didn't like drive G.

Anyways, I'm prety sure we're all glad that you finally got it working, this has definately been a crazy one.

I belived that the Xecuter2 BIOS's would be the best and I think it's been proven here again Smile

Anyways, have fun with your modded xbox Very Happy
