Hi. I installed XBMC and it works. I saw some good divx on it, and i'm very happy.

But I have a cd with other divx (maybe different version, maybe xvid, maybe...) that XBMC refuse to play: i see filenames, but when i choose one, file seems to starts, but the screen stay black...

Are there any add-on with additonal decoder or similar stuff to upload in my xbox MC??

PS. obvious, the cd i can't see on xbox, in my PC works fine.

Thx in advance!

hey Lord_Lance and welcome to xbox-hq mate.. Smile

Ok.. to answer your post:
I only had the problem your talking about once before and that was when XBMC was in its early stages.. They didnt have all the codec support then but now its kick ass..

At the moment XBMC plays everything i can encode from DIVX3.0-5.1 or XVIX, WMV, mp3, etc etc Maybe it may be a corrupted file in the beginning.. Try opening the file using VIRTUALDUB (freeware found on google) and saving it again.. Smile It might help.

Ive done heaps with XBMC:
Ive even got it streaming the news from the xbox-hq homepage on the main screen of XBMC.. I only just the other day starting streaming movies from the internet to the xbox directly.. Webcams and other stuff like NASA Streams.. (pretty interesting)

hope ive been some help!

cheers,

forahobby

Ok, i found a "fix" for the problem.

I had in my xbox the xbmc version 2004-01-02 (about 28 Megabyte).
I found a version labeled 2004-06-06 (about 18 Megabyte).
The new version do not work, but i paste all his files onto the older version ( Very Happy I know, usually this system don't work...) AND MAGIC: now i have a new version working (100% i think...), and i can finally read those video files i wrote in the older post!

Wonderful!!!
PS. What is the newest version of xbmc and how i can be sure to download the complete version?? (if you can't give the address in public, please email me or send a private message).

Thx again.
