Hello guys I have a question for anyone who have the idea for my problem... some days before my xbox is getting freeze on the opening videos of some games... and some games not running. my friends test my games on other machines and works fine. another problem that I saw is when I extract an original game from the xbox to my pc its make it so slow... my drive is getting damage??? I have a samsung dvd rom, on a 1.2 xbox with a solderless xenium ice.

waiting comment fast please....

If I need to replace the drive. or put anoter drive, where I can find some reliable tutorial to do that. I found some but I hate some procedures to make running games with another dvd-rom.

sorry shark2th I dont understand your question... you can be more clearly.

funkydovelopen... to clean it I need to dissasembly the dvd rom or I can use dvd lens cleaner to do that. In my country I saw a cleaning kit from maxell and its labeled FOR XBOX. can I use that? If I need to dissasembly do you know a tutorial to do that with the best explanation?

thanxs for the fast replies...

I need more replies.

waiting comments.

My question is did your xbox ever operate properly to begin with? How long have you had it and when did the slow playback issues begin?

theres 2 ways, either the cd lens cleaner type thing, that has little brushes on it to clean the lens, but i have found they aren't the greatest. the second way would involve using a cotton swab and some alcohol to manually clean the lens

I would target the lens. It points up and does indeed collect dust easily.
Don't disassemble... open the drawer and you should have access to the lens.
