well, I just got a sunday chip because i messed up my softmods... When soldering the chips onto the board the D0 wire got striped. This made it not work at all. I fixed the D0 connection (it was annoying as heck... burned myself in the process too, haha) . Now when i turn on the xbox with the sunday chip on the lpc connections it frags but when i pull it off it boots back to the error screen with no error code, just like before. Ive tried all the banks... I have a v1.0 so i figured it would be in the standard position but when it fragged i tried all the other banks...
My chip came with the lpc connection already on it i just had to solder it to the board and connect the LS and BT. LS must work cuz it causes the box to frag, and the BT works because if i turn it on with the power button it boots standard and goes to the error screen.

Any help would be great and i can give u any info you ask, ill be checking this post very often, i want to fix my box

Ive checked the lpc connections and they appear to be fine. Im guessing its the bios...

Dont worry. He will be around in the forums as soon as he can.
Xbox-HQ is the official support forums for the CleverMod.. Smile

I test all the mods here so that bios problems aren't an issue on your end. It sounds like power, ground, LS and BT are okay if you get different results from pressing the small power on button or the large eject tray button. This only leaves the 4 lad lines, the clock and the reset line. All connections need to be pristine.

You can test all the lad lines by checking each one to the LPC point 15 in the diagram below. You should get 10k ohms btween any lad line and pin 15 when the power is off and xbox is unplugged. You need a meter to perform the check on LAD3:0.

I guess maybe i did something wrong because i have the chip on and everything and it boots as if the chip isnt on. everytime. Cuz now i get a 05 error, cuz my hdd is unlocked...

Ok ill check the LPC, i dont have a meter, but ill try and see whats up...

k currently my lpc is set out as:

oo
oo
xx
xx
xx
xx
x
xx

its clean on top and the solder is pretty clean on the bottom, i tried to take a picture but it didnt turn out to well. none of the pins are wiggly or anything, however, my 1.0 did have solder in the holes where the lpc holes are when i opened it, so my dad was silly and put in each of the pins separately, by heating them then pushing them thru the solder. they all appear even but you never know. Also on my 1.1 the lpc appears to be fine, but the chip just seems like its not on... goin to check the connections more... There must be something wrong with the connections, im not sure what...

Well I didn't gett he pic but anyt mis alignment on the header pins more the .025" will create a bad connection, Make sure your male pins are in straight and maybe re-solder the header while it's connected, reflow the chip connections anyway.

hm, i dont know, ive tried everything. Ive corrected the LPC and header multiple times, fixed the D0 multiple times, tried multiple BT layouts (screwed it up in the process), I just cant get either of them to work. One chip causes the box to frag and the other doesnt do anything...

Is there a way i could send in my motherboards (1.0 and 1.1) and have the chips installed, haha... that would solve all my problems.

Yes there is put both boards in a flat rate box and get them both modded foir $40 total. Do the mail in install on the site and I'll email you more info. This is a good deal you should take me up on it.

Basicly just put both boards in the same box and I'll handle it.

send them to the same place the chips where shipped from with 40 dollars in the box?

Both motherboards got a little damaged in the install attempt (the d0 trace being ripped off which was repaired on both boxes, and the 1.1s BT thing got a little messed up and now the xbox boots on plugin and wont stay off...) they still run fine though. Also, if you cant get the chip to work, will I get my money back?
