OK, X2.3Blite+ Xbox was working just fine until....
I was copying game to HDD with DVD2Xbox and it got hung up about 97% of the way through. I shut the Xbox down, carried to my router to plug it in to see if I could FTP the game to computer, then back to Xbox. When it was reconnected, it powered up 3 times, then FRAGGED. I thought maybe shutting down the Xbox screwed up the HDD, so I replaced with another Xbox HDD... same result. I removed the DVD & HDD to check out modchip... 2 blue LEDs when enabled, 2 blue & 1 green LEDs when disabled. OK, so chip appears to be aligned and is firmly screwed in place. With the modchip diabled, it boots to MS Dash, but clock needs resetting. After clock is reset, I try again, still FRAGGING. I tried booting with Cromwell, still FRAGGING.
What gives? Has the firmly screwed-down modchip become misaligned while GENTLY carrying 30 feet to the router? What gives here??? Am I doing something stupid here?
Thanks!

It definitely doesn't sound like you did anything stupid. The fact that you put another HD in it and it did the same thing tells me it has to be in the chip...right?

you did nothing wrong to your xbox you have to have it connected to you tv to do anything if you disconnect the RCAs off the xbox it will do that thats why you need to have you tv close to your PC or you PC closer to your TV hope this helps

It was hooked up to TV (that'show I knew it booted with chip off!). But a good idea... I have made that mistake more than once!
