Hey i was just wondering what you guys think the best codec is for dvd ripping to backup my dvds? just a quick question because ive been using divex but i've noticed some difference in the audio and video sometimes and then it goes back after the chapter. is there any way to fix this or just use another codec?

you can use dvd decrypter for decrypting dvds:

oo lol i know. i use decrypter and 1click dvd to avi best ive been using divex and its not the best so i think im gonna use mpeg4 codec see how that goes

Personally my preferences are:
1. XVID
2. DIVX

I love squashing a whole DVD into near dvd quality XVID files under 700mb..

I havent converting anything for ages.. But years ago i used to always use DVD2AVI which was a free app.. Quite good too.
