Hi XboxMadBoy and welcome to HQ..
Im sure you will enjoy your stay.
Ok.. let me start with the basics..
Explanations:
DASHBOARD:
A dashboard is what you see when you turn on your retail xbox without a game in the dvdrom drive. Once you have your modchip fitted or softmod you can install another dashboard to replace the one your seeing.. There are many dashboards available for a hacked xbox. You can still access the ORIGINAL RETAIL DASHBOARD after you have installed a new one too.
MODCHIP:
All modchips do the same job really.. They override the onboard xbox bios (motherboard) which stops BACKUP GAMES FROM BOOTING..
When the modchip overrides the retail bios your xbox can boot anything like evox dashboards, n64 emulator etc etc
BIOS:
All modchips require a hacked bios to be flashed onto them.. Bios files come in all sizes eg. 256kb, 512kb, 1mb.. The most recommended bios is the EVOX M8 bios and it one of the latest bioses.. You must flash the bios onto your brand new modchip once it is installed before it will work.
Its over 600mb and has 60+ dashboards, apps and emulators on it and can be booted with a MODDED xbox.. Once you boot it you can select from the onscreen menus what to install..

Hey man, welcome to the scene! Also, welcome to the best modding site worldwilde!!
You will find all the help you will ever need right here.
If you haven't yet, I would highly suggest becoming a VIP member. If you have..then you have made the first wise decision in your modding venture. The next wise decision was picking the xenium ice as your mod chip solution.
You have a great chip.
First thing you want to do after you install the chip (also, please keep the stock HD in until the chip is falshed) is setup the retail bios selection on your mod chip.
When you turn on your Xbox you should see the xenium ice operating system menu. XOS menu for short.
First thing you do is select, LAUNCH ITEMs
Next, select ADD ITEM
Next, select TSOP
A keyboard will appear on your screen. The words "Retail Kernel" will be already typed for you. Just select "DONE" and then you will see a bunch of colors listed.
Red
Green
Blue
etc..
etc..
what this is for is to allow you to pick what color you want the xenium ice LED to be when you are running the retail kernel bios. The retail kernel bios is basically your onboard bios that Microsoft provides you. When you are done with this and you select Retail Kernel from your launch menu your chip will essentially be disabled and your Xbox will boot up like an unmodded machine.
Next, time to flash your mod chip.
You need to figure out how you are going to flash the chip.
You can either flash by FTP'ing the bios to the existing HD, by flashing via the built in webserver and your computers web browser, or by creating a bios CD.
Once you determine and learn all you need about your particular flashing method, just again go to your Launch Items menu.
select ADD ITEM
Select, FLASH
You will see a list of drives
C:/
D:/ (this is the dvd drive if you are flashing from disk)
E:/
X:/
Y:/
Z:/
Now, if you are flashing via HD, just pick the drive where you stored the bios (I recommend E, but up to you.
Now, if you are flashing via network and web browser, you do not have to go to the Launch Item menu,
SO good to get an easy and well balanced Response with no Flaming
Ok i will get my chip Monday or Tuesday Depending on Spanish Post
If i use the Sp.ice to clone my Drive, will it give me an option to ADD another partition like a G drive or will i need another Utils for that so i can Maxiumise my 160Gb drive, can i dictate my partition sizes...
Many Thanks
Phil
