ok,well ive done a few installs and they all went fine. i did one last night and now i have a problem. it is a 1.6 xbox and its an alladin advance xt chip. the install went in fine, i used a pin header and a pcb rebuild board.i got it all back together and tried it for the first time and the chip wont come on.? i didnt use a switch for the chip, and when i push the power button to boot without the chip it boots fine and plays games fine, but when i hold the power button down to boot with the chip on it turns red ,then orange(just like it is supposed to) but instead of staying orange it turns green again and boots with the chip off. i checked all the solder points and everything looks ok. the only thing i didnt do is scrape the motherboard on the points,i did go back and checkthem and they appear to be good.anyone have any ideas?

Hey man whats up? i got the same problem, except 4 the led changing colors, i cant even get there? why is there so many damn versions of this chip? ill keep up on your thread/.......................peace
i am done with 7 of the aladdins now & working on my first 1.6 virgin box, the rest were a breeze but i cant get this 1.6 to even boot so well see.........................what progress have you made?.................peace

I had the same problem with some of 1.6 xbox'x iv'e modded but most of the worked fine. They were all at first chipped with aladdin xt. Then i tried duo x2 and then with xecuter 2.6 ce on the faulty xbox's, but still they would freeze or wouldnt boot at all in chipped mode, but still the all worked fine in original mode. But when i used the x2 5035 bios and the all work perfectly afterwards.
The problem seems to be with the evox bios. Try a chip with 512k bios bank(since the x2 5035 bios is 512k), like duo x2 or xecuter 2.6ce.. Maybe it will solve your problems as well:)

Well i wiil have to say i wont instal aladdins in 1.6 box's any more , 2 of them only boot or get video 70% the time,CPLD code problem.im going to order the damn duox2 blue like i should of in the begining!..............peace
