softmodded or modchipped it doesnt matter.
AS long as you have a hacked dashboard installed like you already do.

What you need to do is give your pc network card a ip address..
Give it a static address of say 192.168.0.1 and subnet 255.255.255.0
you do this by right clicking your PC NIC card and choose properties..

then do this:

1. Click Start Menu
2. Now click run and then type 'cmd' and press enter
3. When the popup window appears type in 'ipconfig /all'
4. This will show all your pc info

Write it down.. Hopefully it should match watch you just setup for the pc network card.

eg.
ip: 192.168.0.1
sub: 255.255.255.0

now go to your xbox dashboard and give your xbox a ip addres of 192.168.0.2 or .3 or .10 whatever. which all the same settings. then save and rebot your xbox.

you shold then be able to ftp into your xbox using flashfxp or another ftp client from your computer.

settings for connecting to xbox via ftp are:

ftp: your xbox ip (192.168.0.2)
port:21
user: xbox
pass: xbox

leave all other settings alone.

thats it

hope thats get you going mate.

im sorry we only offer LIVE support to our VIP members unfortunately.. Sad

Here you go.. How to change PC NETWORK IP & XBOX NETWORK IP ready to be used:

You just have to:
1. click 'Start Menu' --> 'control panel' --> 'network options'
2. you should now see your network card show as a icon in front of you
3. right click your network card and choose 'properties'.
4. You should now be looking at the GENERAL TAB!
5. Click on 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' and then click 'properties' button
6. Give your PC A NETWORK IP ADDRESS..

I would give it this:

PC SETTINGS:
IP: 192.168.0.1
SUBNET: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.1

7. Choose ok.. Or save whatever.. Now get out of there..
Reboot your computer just to make sure your ip addres has been changed as we did above.

8. Start yor xbox and go into SYSTEM SETTINGS evox..

Fill out the ip address section of system settings

XBOX SETTINGS:
ip: 192.168.0.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

Thats it. You should now be able to ftp using any FTP CLIENT!

FLASHFXP SETTINGS (ftp client for pc to xbox trasfer):
ip: 192.168.0.2 (xbox ip)
port: 21
subnett: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1 (YOUR PC)

username: xbox
password: xbox

if you cant get it from that mate i would really suggest you sign up as a vip you will get much more help.. I cant do more then what i have already at the moment.. More then enough info for what you need to do.

l8r and enjoy HQ

you don't need a mod chip, you can do it with a softmod

all that matters for FTP access is that you have a dash like Unleashx, Evox, Avalaunch or something else that has an FTP server. Once you have that, it's just a matter of configuring your network. Chip or softmod, FTP works the same.

The basic run down is like forahobby listed in his guide.

Go into your control panel, and open network connections. Right click on your LAN connection and left click properties. Double left click on Internet Protocol. This is where you put in your IP address and subnet. In the IP address field put in 192.168.0.1 in the subnet make sure it has 255.255.255.0 for the gateway put 192.168.0.1 and click ok.

Then go to your xbox, since your running unleashx, go into system and then settings. Make sure that in the network section that the TYPE option is set to static. FOr the ip address use 192.168.0.2 gateway, 192.168.0.1 then go all the way to the botton of the option and hit the save option. Then reboot your xbox. Then go back to your computer and open your ftp program. You want to connect to 192.168.0.2 witht he username/password of xbox/xbox. This should let you in.

As an alternative, you can turn on internet connection sharing to the LAN connection, and under the network section of unleashx set the type to dhcp and save that and reboot. Your xbox should now be getting it's IP address assigned from your PC and you would want to FTP to that IP address.
