From now i have 2 succesfull softmod on my score (with no one failed).
I would like to share 3 very usefull advices to any NewB's before proceeding with any softmoding:
1-DO A COMPLETE BACK-UP of your XBox C:\ drive on your computer including EEprom and HDDkey.
2- Read again and again on softmoding and make sure you're VERY CONFIDENT in what you're about to do.(i suggest you to have a friend with advance computer skills (like you i hope) with you to validate your manipulations step-by-step at least for your first softmod)
3-Be PROACTIVE...read a lot about error codes, troublesshooting and hotswapping
in case something goes very wrong.(like error 21 or even if the machine won't boot at all after the softmod.
With all these precautions, there's no reasons why you shouldn't be able to restore almost anything if something has messed up!
Good Luck!

I have done 19 softmods and will be doing another one in about 2 hours. Not one has failed. I have used SID v1 and SID v2 all with success. Like Chiboukis has mentioned you need to read the DIRECTIONS. If read and re-read the directions for the softmod, you should not have any problems. There is always that one xbox that will throw you a curve. The biggest thing to do is make a MS Backup (create ms backup is how you will see it in the softmod menu). If something goes south on you then you can always restore it. _________________ Xbox v1.3

Cheers guys, I think I will just go ahead and do it. I have a modded xbox (tsop flash) that will make it a bit easier if anything goes wrong. I will make sure to do a backup too. The larger hdd will be my next task, whats the biggest size I can having when using a softmod? Cheers again. _________________ Q."Are you happily married"?

You can use any size hard drive you want. You must make sure the hard drive you would like to use is Lockable. _________________ Xbox v1.3
