I have downloaded dothalo and have a mod chip. How do you load the maps to it and how do you edit them?

Once you have dothalo successfully installed on your computer just FTP into your Xbox and extract the .map files.

Then, you can edit the .map files using the dothalo program, save them, then reFTP them to your Halo maps folder. When prompted to overwrite, select YES. That will overwrite the old map files with the new map files and now you can enjoy your hacks.

Of course, you need to have basic networking skills to make this program work since you have to be able to hook your pc and xbox together and have them communicate.

It's obvious then you need to learn how to FTP. FTP stands for file transfer protocol. It's a way to transfer files back and forth between two separate computers...well, in this case, your Xbox and your computer.

Since your Xbox has networking built in, all you have to do is get your Xbox and PC on the same IP range and then use FTP software on your PC to link the two together.

Then, its just highlighting files on your Xbox HD to copy over to your PC hard drive.

You then manipulate the files on your PC and send them back to your Xbox hence overwriting them.

Take some time on a few tutorials.

Good luck.

another noob questions, where can you find the NIC IP addresses on your computer? Also, will it screw up my computer (broke it 3 times in 3 months)? And can I leave the ip settings on automatic on the xbox (dont want to screw with it, have XBL)?

I was sure one of those tutorials gave you a way to find your IP...

just click the start button, then programs, then accessories, then select Command Prompt.

A dos box will open.

Type: ipconfig

That will give you your info.

Type: exit to close it.

You put this info in your EvoX IP address settings, not your Xbox IP Address settings. You can keep your Xbox IP settings to DHCP for Live.

For EvoX if you use Dynamic you'll have to change your FTP address here and there depending on what is assigned. That's why I just use my EvoX setting as static.
