OK, I have X2.3blite+ and I just upgraded BIOS to 4983.06 ---> started up just fine. I plan to upgrade HDD tomorrow and I read that it was best to have an up-to-date dashboard. I downloaded evoxdash.xbe build 3935. I renamed old dash to xboxdash2.xbe, FTP'd new dash as xboxdash.xbe to the C: drive, and restatted -----> error 9

I made a new EvoX (3935) disk and tried to boot EvoX via CD, still get error 9. Shouldn't EvoX load from CD? I believe the new Evox disk is good, but I don't know for sure (used same CD-RW brand/Nero 6, same method that I used for BIOS disk.

Help! What do I do?!?!?

i think that bios looks for the MAIN EVOX DASHBOARD Called

evoxdash.xbe..

Try renaming the dashboard to EVOXDASH.XBE and reboot.. Smile

Just to throw something out there, could this be an issue with the hard drive not being locked? I am new to this, but I believe I remember another issue that a friend had with the same 3935 build. It may have been error 13 though not 100% sure. I will see if I can find some documentation. Hang in there.

I found some info, and error 13 would be the error if your hard drive was not locked. I did find some info that goes over getting your dashboard to work. It's a pretty basic tutorial and I am unsure if you have already viewed it or not. Here is the link:

Well, I went back to the old BIOS, 4981.67, thinking if 4983.06 was looking for a differently named dash, then going back to previous BIOS should bail me out---> it didn't! Still error 13! I'll try making another Evox Boot CD, but I think the boot CD I made already had the dash name evoxdash.xbe.

Is there anyway to force the Xbox to boot from CD? I don't think it's even trying to boot from CD, just going into HD boot and giving me an error code 13 (I don't know that for a fact, just guessing).

I can still play original games and their backups, which kinda surprised me. I guess I need to figure out a way to FTP into the HD to restore the old dash.

Any ideas anyone?

If I do purchase a large HD tomorrow, can I just install it with Slayers and make this almost a non-issue????

HELP!!!!
