If I'm asking questions in wrong fourm let me know. How do I/where install dvd2xbox? I think I found it somewhere if someone hasn't already told me, but I've been getting SOOOOO much info on Xbox modding I'm getting over whelmed. So just point me to a tut and I'm good to go. Still waiting on chip. Burned all of my disks.

On a larger HDD, there is a folder called /F/Apps...

This is where all your apps go, so make a folder in there called Dvd2Xbox and dump the files into there.

The EvoX dashboard does an autosort on this folder for apps, and displays it in the apps section of the dashboard.

If there's no XBE file you've probably downloaded the source code, which needs to be complied to make an XBE.. The only way it can be compiled is if you have the Xbox Development Kit (XDK) and Visual Studio .NET 2003...

You can always join our VIP section and grab the downlaods already compiled...

I personally don't even see a need for the dvd2xbox app anyway. It's not like you can rip a DVD to your xbox then watch it (or am I wrong on that). I would guess that most people by now have the ability to Rip DVD's with their PC. To rip a DVD via the XBOX, FTP it over to your PC so you can back it up just seems like such a convoluted process. Am I missing some functionality here? I do understand that some people use it to back up games too. I have been using an app called Px HDD Loader (Project X). Is there any advantages to using the dvd2xbox versus this app? The first day I got my modded box I backed up two DVD's. I then spent an hour trying to figure out how to watch before I realized it just wasn't going to happen.

The latest version of Dvd2Xbox actually does some advantages:

* Better Automatic Patching capabilities
* You can add a custom ACL list to Dvd2Xbox which will actually resize games for you (remove non-english data etc).

I started using HDDLoader but after using Dvd2Xbox I've preferred this as my main Xbox Game ripper.

You could also rip a DVD with this and FTP it back to your PC for burning (not a bad idea if you're at a friend's place and they have a DVD you want, hehehe)...

See, just when I think I like something...you guys gotta go give me reasons to try something else..HA. I will keep the dvd2xbox in mind for ripping games in the event I run into a problem. I was debating on getting rid of it, but if I run into an auto patching issue it will be nice to have a backup plan. Thanks for the heads up!!
