ok i tried the way of upgrading a hard drive without having to take my chip outta my box because so far ive always taken my chip out to lock the drive and such. so i followed this tut: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-109.html
got to the point where you're supposed to put the new xbox hard drive in after the eeprom was changed ... and now the xbox just flashes green on the eject board really fast. and it wont load or open the dvd drive or anything. lol ive been around awhile now, and i've NEVER had this problem. anyone?! have a clue? _________________ Blue Chaos

Check the Llama site they have a tutorial to solve your problem. I think there was a problem loading your eeprom. It may help you. _________________ 2 Xbox V 1.0

Hi Ya
I got a the same problem with one of
my spare xbox`s, I`m looking into
remote flashing the eeprom.
some guy`s i work with have a eeprom
programmer and i`m kinda hoping
that when i give them my eeprom data
on a disk they should be able to
fix my problem, If it works I shall
let you know.

You got the Christmas Tree Error, the problem is that your bios got damaged somehow (I'm still trying to figure out how did it happen on my unmodded xbox) I have done some research and what I have found is that you need to flash the xbox TSOP (I guess it is the same as bios). Everybody I have talked to say you can fix that with modchip. I haven't tried that yet (Since I got two more xbox I'll wait until they are selling them for 20 bucks, I'm cheap what can I say).
This is an excerpt from the Llama site:
Flashing Green Bad EPROM image
Steady Green No Video Coma Console
Flashing Red and Orange (Amber) Video display problem, check cord. Also try switching to another video mode by changing the cable. I currently have an Xbox that displays this error when connected to the standard composite video cable but boots fine when connected to a RF adapter cord.
Flashing Red and Green Numerous causes, system failure see also Call Customer Service Error
Tries To Boot Three Times and then starts flashing red and green. Also Known as "Christmas Lights" In my experience this is due to a failed mod chip and broken traces. I have also seen it on two stock Xboxes doing the same thing.
Guess what my xbox is the third unmodded stock xbox that has the same problem. What are the freaking odds? _________________ 2 Xbox V 1.0

If any of you have an X3 or the ability to borrow one ( b/c I don't know if it works on a nother chip) on Xbins in the Unauthorized flashbios section, there is an Unauth Flashbios 3.01 and 3.03 that restore eeproms with a version-specifi generic eeprom.
The x3 is still able to get to the flashbios screen without an operable eeprom.
So you are still able to flash the chip, anything involving M$ code won't work.
I found this out AND unlocked a locked drive using a new 1.6 eeprom image, 1.4 image data, and LiveInfo by Yoshihiro, seriously about 30 mins before my eeprom chip flasher (IC flasher) arrived at my door.
THE ODDS!!
Thats my fix if it follows your topic _________________ XBOX v1.6

As long as you are able to program your chip be it with an external programmer, onboard os or hotswap then you can fix your eeprom with any chip using the flashbios/eeprom trick.
