Dear all,
I have a Networkcard in my PC and a Hauppauge TV Nexus Card card. When the TV card is active/enabled I can not connect from the Xbox to the PC, I am always getting access denied error. When I disable the TV card it works fine. Can someone give support how to solve this issue, please.
Thanks
Pedrouk

hi pedrouk,

Very strange.. Have you done a fresh installation of your WINDOWS XP or other OS??

IF NOT:
1. Try removing the drivers for the tv tuner card and then connect to your xbox.. Smile
2. Reboot your pc
3. Re install the drivers
4. Reboot your pc
5. Now try to connect to xbox again.. Hopefully it is just a corrupt driver or something.

thats a very strange problem mate and have never seen that before.

Thanks for the reply, No no fresh install of OS, however amazingly I have just done this a day ago what you suggested, because a new version of the TV software was available.
For me its the way how the Hauppauge Nexus is build into the system, as a "networkcard", I don't know how to tell XP that this is not a real networkcard.

Thanks again.

Hi

You need to change your ip address on the TV card.

Change it to anything you like, it works fine no matter what ip you give it.

Try putting it on another subnet, I use 172.168.1.1 255.255.0.0 for my Haupage and the pc and xbox talk fine, you can also try turning off tcp/ip for the haupage nic.

Let us know if you still have problems.

Hi Beast,

the tip with the different subnet solved the issue.
Great. Thanks a million.

Cheers

No probs m8

The problem is the pc gets confused with the routing as the TV card defaults to a local subnet thus any local addresses are resolved to go through the tv card.

Hope you enjoy the site.
