Best use of El Wire I've seen, most other people just smack it all around the X, or right around underneath the console and the brightness is just... bright. I like the idea of it only going around certain parts of the X, but the LED is a bit bright?

The EL Wire I buy is already preconfigred with molex connectors. I dont even have to get a splitter...

If you are buying bulk el wire then you may have to wire it up yourself... I think I saw a tutorial at www.elwirecheap.com or something like that. Just don't buy his stuff...I have had nothing but bad luck with this guy.

It's actually not too bright... the El Tape is much much brighter! Sometimes that gets irritating so when I install El Tape under a case for an underglow effect, I usually configure it so you can plug it in a wall outlet so you can plug it in or unplug it depending on what you want to see.

I don't bother with on/off switches.

I still cant find any pictures or tutorials on soldering or hooking the el wires to a power supply in the xbox. If someone would post some pics or tutorials it would be appreciated, thank you. Even a pic of someone plugging it to a molex connector would be great.

Did you buy El Wire that doesn't have anything connected to it? Is that what you are saying. My El Wire already had molex connectors. I had to do nothing but install.

If you purchased El Wire in bulk that was basically, just wire. You will need a few items not limited to solder, soldering iron, heat shrink wrap stuff, inverter, quick connect cables...etc...

Why not just buy the El Wire already to go? You can get about 5 feet of it for around 10-14 dollars depending on where you find it.

Like I mentioned in my last post. The webiste does have some instructions.

http://www.elwirecheap.com/elwirsolin.html

That is I guess if you are planning on buying El Wire or have already bought El Wire with no connectors and inverters in place.

Then, you will need instructions no how to attach the molex connectors. Tihs is for attaching the inverter to the EL Wire. You don't connect the El Wire directly to a power source. The El Wire connects to wire, then to an inverter, then from the inverter to th molex connectors. You can probably find molex connectors already attached to inverters, so then it's just a matter of soldering the EL Wire to the inverter wire.

Yeah I just got some el tape (5 feet) and it has the molex connectors and two plugs for el tape. I'm gonna plug the tape in the one and cut the other plug off and solder the wire to some neon wire. What kinda sucks is that I don't really want to cut the tape so its probably gonna be a bitch to lay it out(when you want to bend it around). Any idea's on how to lay the tape down to use all five feet up without cutting it? Also will it be ok to substitute tape with the neon wire for the other plug(little black one, not molex)
