I want to prepare a 45 gig hard drive that I have on the side. Can I prepare the one and which the hard drives back and forth at my descresion? I want to have the original hard drive at factory to play XBOX live and have the 45 gig to back up games and play them without the disc. Is it as easy as locking and unlocking and swapping them once they are both prepared?

Sorry for so many questions, I'm new at this.

Dont worry asking questions just teaches you more. Anyways, yes once you have the hard drives locked its jsut a matter of switching the cables, thats it. However, why not just setup the 45 gb to play on live? Or did the xbox already go onto LIVE? The problem with this is locking the hard drive to your xbox. You are either going to have to use the hard drive manager with a computer to lock the hard drive, you can temporarliy put a chip in and lock it, or you can do a hot swap. There might be a tut on hot swapping but I'm not sure. If not there should be a few other posts on the subject.

I'm not sure if I understand. I want to have a hard drive to use LIVE and a hard drive to play my backups and switch them back and forth. Is this possible other than being a pain in the ass?

My factory drive signed on to live last night.
