Anyone know how to upgrade the dashboard? i think you just cpy stuff over, but i want to know for sure..

hi zeeboid,
What i always do is download the latest dashboard and burn a xiso of it..
But before i create the xiso i configure my network setting in the .ini file.
Just open the .ini file in notepad and change your network config.
Make your xiso with any creator program. (downloads )
After you have burnt the new xiso do this:
1. Boot it up using your xbox to make sure it works. (network too)
2. Copy over all the files from the cdrw/dvd to your xbox c: drive.
(use flashfxp or ftp prog to copy files over from the cdrw/dvd to XBOX c: drive)
3. reboot
now the reason i do it this way is im upgrading dashboards all the time and if the xbox dont copy the files properly your xbox may not boot..
This is not a problem because the evox cdrw/dvd you made will always work even if the dashboard files are corrupt or missing on c: drive..
Sort of a fail safe as i upgrade so many boxes..
Its no big deal though.. Systemlord stuffed a couple of boxes and just copied my xbox dashboard files onto his and works again..

Depends on what version you're running at the moment. The latest Evox dash is quite good but if you’re not having any problems with your existing one then don't bother changing it. There aren't any real advantages to upgrading to the latest dash. _________________ Lefe's too short,
