Just softmodded using SID and AID, followed DJB's tutorial to the letter, everything went fine until i got to step 9 and patched the MS 5960 dash...after PPF XBOX ran it didn't re-boot my Xbox as it says it should. I then played an original game to make sure everything was ok and have found that i'm back to the original MS Dash. Any help would be appreciated as i'm really new to this.

I put it in C folder. Once i had patched MS5960 i had to re-boot myself as it didn't re-boot like the guide said it should. I then checked C and it had the dash named "msdash.xbe" in there. Should i still have been able to play an original game without wiping the softmod?

Thanks so much for the quick reply.

Steff If the game you played had a newer dash version then you currently had on your xbox then the game could of updated your dashboard for your console and wiped your mod. The only suggestion I would have is to run the newest xbox live game you have(halo 2 need for speed ug 2 etc) Try and sign into xbox live thru the game(even if you don't have xbox live) This should put the newest msdash on your console which is the 5960 and then reinstall your mod. Make sure you make a ms backup incase of problems and create a mod back up in case a game try's to update your dash...This way you can restore the mod at anytime. I hope this helps or if anyone else has any ideas.

Thanks, will give that a try. When i tried to patch ms 5960 from SID i get this prompt."Failed. Action. Rename." When i re-boot after this it goes back to my original MS dash, even without playing any games.

I did boot from my pro evo4 live game before i tried anything although i don't think i tried to connect to live.

Thanks again for the help, much appreciated.
