I'm really new to modding and i'm considering using SID and AID to modify my xbox. I have a couple of questions i would like to clear up before i go ahead with it.
1.If i modify can i still return the xbox to it's original state, if so, how do i do this?
2.Can i still play all my original games? I've read that some games update the dashboard which means the softmod has to be done again.

You can restore your xbox as long as you make a back up. When install the softmod and following the directions it will tell you to make a MS backup. If get the v2.0 Softmod Installer Delux from the HQ downloads. You can also download the manual and I think the manual is included in the download. The newest dashboard is the ms 5960. As far as your games trying to patch the dash, well if it does when doing the install you have the option to create a mod back up. So if the soft mod gets wiped you can just pick the option Restore Mod. You can play whatever you want. Hope this helps.

Also, if all fails and you want to restore your Xbox you can always just temporarily install a solderless mod chip and then use an autoinstaller to totally reformat your HD and install the retail applications/files.

Thanks for the replies, done the softmod with SID and AID last night so i've now got a good idea of how it all works.
