I need a totorial on installing, either by ftp or cdrw, MAME and home brew games. I have PACMAN 3D and burnt it to a cdrw, using xiso??? Not sure if that is the process, tones of games our there and very little instructions on installing them.

Also any suggestions on which emulators to use, do I need a emulator to run the PACMAN3dx-bata-1? Can you install the emulator via cdrw with out having to adjust the ini? Can you use OEM discs from ps1 in xbox? I'm looking for ps2 emulator, as is everyone else.

Any help would be appreciated...

OK, let's see what I can do here...

The easiest way to do all this I've found is to use FTP, it's quick and it saves burning and dumping data.

Firstly, MAME:
Make a folder on F Drive called MAME and upload it to that folder. You WILL have to modify the .ini file though so you can run MAME from your dashboard. Look for this bit of code in your evox.ini file:

Code:
[Menu]

Section "Root"
{

Now, insert this line underneath to run MAME from your dashboard

Code:
Item "MAME","F:\MAME\default.xbe"

Secondly, PACMAN 3D:

If the default starting file is default.xbe you can easily throw the game in your Games Directory on F Drive, which is at F:\Games. So, you would create a folder called PACMAN 3D in F:\Games, then dump all the files into that.

I'm not sure that PACMAN3dx-beta-1 would be, so I couldn't say what emulator to use.

There's a way to make installling Emulators easy on yourself. Instead of putting MAME in the root of F Drive (F:\MAME), create a folder on F Drive called Emulators (F:\Emulators). Put all your emulator folders in there. EvoX has code that will read a folder (and it's subfolders) for default.xbe files to add to the dashboard for you.

Discard the earlier bit of code I told you to enter for MAME, and use this instead:

Code:
Section  "Emulators"
{
SortStart
AutoAddItem "F:\Emulators\"
SortEnd
}

This will create a menu called Emulators on your dashboard for you.

About PS1/PS2:

No you can't read PS1/PS2 CDs in the Xbox, you have to make a .bin/.cue image using CDRWIN (or any other program that will write a .bin and .cue file as a CD Image) and put it in the psxcds folder (this is assuming you're using pcsxbox as your PS1 Emulator).

There's nothing about PS2 Emulation yet, if it ever comes out we'll hear about it.

Hopefully this post has helped you out a bit...
