Ive read the tutorials on how to get your xbox online using 2 nic cards, which I have. When I try and update the avalaunch dashboard using the avalaunch dashboard nothing happens, I also cant access the irc client or download skins online. I have XBMC installed as well and when I and get album info it says socket error and I also cant get the weather or any other features online. I checked all my settings and everything seems correct. Any help would be appreciated.

hi brandond,
So have you got ALL YOUR DNS settings setup on your xbox the same as the PC settings you use to get on the net?? Have you turned on INTERNET CONNECTOIN SHARING (ICS) on your that has the internet connectoin?? This could be why too. YOu have to turn ICS on and then choose which NETWORK CARD you want to share it to..
anyway, just do this to get all your info from the pc:
1. Click 'Start Menu'
2. Click 'Run'
3. Type 'cmd' and press enter
4. Type 'ipconfig /all' and press enter
5. this will show all your ip information for all network cards on the computer.
6. write down the DNS informaiton as you will have to put it into the xbox settings (DNS SETTINGS).
Put those settings into you xbox and then turn on ICS..
It will work just fine.. I used to have it working on 56k modem connectoin.. Only weather and basic news would work.

Ive got all the dns settings and ics is turned on but how do you tell the nic card which nic card to share to. Im on windows xp and the settings tab under advanced on the nic cards properties brings up a window with a list like outlook express, ftp, dhcp, dns. Ive checked ftp. Ok.. Sorry about that.. Your right in WINXP there isnt that option.. Im so used to Win2k and Server..
So really what you need to do now is turn off all your firewalls until you get this running.. It could just be your firewall stopping traffic reaching the xbox..
also, so you can ftp ok into the xbox?? If you can ftp into the xbox your nearly there..
If you cant ftp into your xbox then you should start with this FTP first.

I can ftp fine, although with the smartxx dont you have to be in edonchip mode to access the ftp? Does the ftp have a connection to the xbox for the xbox to access the internet? Ill try turning off all my firewalls. Thanks
