Had unleashX ran great... Until I tried to watch the Van Helsing DVD, which popped up a menu"your xbox not equipped with xbox live installing now".. All I have now is the default xbox dashboard that you get when you buy it, but I can look at my save files and unleashX is still there, with the only option to copy or delete. I have been told to run the auto-installer and backup my unleash files on a memory card then load the auto install, and then the files from the memory card.. I have no way to connect with my pc and am asking if this is what I have to do and if so can you tell me exactly what files to get and what to do with them to put them on a CD-r....
PLEASE HELP, NEWBIE, explain as to a retard

Hi t_bigt,
This is very simple to do even for someone who really has no idea.
Whoever told you to download the XBOXHQ Auto Instaler Deluxe and burn to CDRW or DVD-R was right.
Using the HQ AIDeluxe is the quickest and simplest way to fix it especially since you dont have much experience with xbox stuff..
heres the basic steps:
1. Download the XBOXHQ Auto Installer Deluxe v1.01 from the site, Bit Torrent or VIP FTP Server.. (plenty of places to get it) Its 450mb though.
2. Unzip the .rar file and burn the .iso file to a CDRW or DVD-R using nero.. Heres a SWF TUTORIAL to help:
3. Once you have finished burning the AID boot it in your xbox like normal.
4. A menu will appear saying its the HQ AID!
5. Choose 'Install Dashboards'
6. Choose 'Install *****' to e: or c: depending which modchip bios you are running. (it doesnt matter really just try e first then c if e doesnt work)
**** = Whatever dashboard you want to install.. There are a few to choose from..
7. thats it. Once its finished installing the dashboard you can remove the AID and reboot your xbox.. You should now have your dash back.
Thanx for the info, but I have another question. Do I need to backup my launcher files on a memory card so I don't loose what I had on there to start?

it always a good idea to make a backup of your gamesaves.
Dont forget if you have your pc connected to your xobx already you could use XBOXSAVESMANAGER to backup to your pc instead..
Anyway, really your game saves are safe unless you use the Format Option from the menu.
