All I heard was crickets.
What's the matter? We participate in the contests... so why no interest in the raffle? Can I buy like $100 in tickets then just pull my name out of a hat as the winner? If I pay today, can we draw today?? I would participate! Count me in! _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

haha, I'll be down for purchasing at least 10 ticket, but then again, I'm sure some people out there with some real money will enter a buttload of times and get it, but I'll still try to support the site of course! _________________ XBOX v1.6c

I think its a great idea but there should be a limit on how many times you can enter. I know the more times you enter the more it helps the site, which Im not discouraging at all. People can still donate the old fashioned way. Maybe a limit of ten entries per user. Some people will probably try and open more then one account to get around this but I think it would help keep it fair. You can definetly count me in though....can never have too many xboxes, lol _________________ Xbox v1.0

I will definitely be in, probably for 10 as well. I don't see a need to limit the amount of times someone enters. If someone wants to donate $500 through a raffle, more power to them. And more money for the site. The whole idea of a raffle is to donate money with a chance to win something. Limiting what someone can donate, seems to defeat the purpose. Or maybe I have just drunk too much rum .... who knows - lol _________________ Xbox Version 1.6

Very true.. Ill have to write some sort of script that checks that out.
Glad to see you are all interested.. Ive seen another site in the past do this and worked very well.. Just keeps the community growing and people interested..

I personally don't think it's unfair for someone to donate more money to get more tickets. You can look at it a couple ways. Just like bingo, the more cards you have the more chances you have to win, or you can look at it as:
If 1000 tickets are sold, each ticket has 1 in 1000 chance of winning. So, if you are holding 5 tickets, you have 5 in 1000 chances of winning... but, each individual ticket still has the same odds of being pulled.
Yeah, I know...I can sugarcoat a big piece of poop on top of a hot fudge sundae and make one think it's a brownie, but that's not what I'm trying to do.
It's just like the competitions. Everyone has an opportunity to submit stuff and earn the same points. It's just how much time and effort you put into it to win. It's not unfair just because someone does it more.
Maybe what we need to consider is making the tickets expensive enough to where someone only wants to buy one, but make the odds better. If you have 2.00 tickets, one may be more inclined to buy 10 of them, rather than only buying two 10.00 tickets.
The bottom line is, this raffle is supposed to be a win win scenerio. The site wins because it gets donations to help hosting and it gives the members here something else to enjoy.
Trust me, I would not be donating hundreds of dollars of time and parts unless I thought this site was worth it
