hi all can you help i lifted this from the tutorial
Running through a Crossover Cable
If your going to be running straight through with a crossover cable you'll need to change some of the settings in the avalaunch.xml document.
* First you'll need to change the type="dchp" to type="static"
* Next you'll need to assign an IP to your xbox. Something like 192.168.0.2 should work fine. DO NOT enter your computer's IP address here though.
* Your subnet should be 255.255.255.0
That's all you should have to do to connect your XBox to your PC. If you'd like to have avalaunch access the internet you will need to have two NIC's installed on your PC and will also have to setup the gateway as well as your dns1 and dns2 portions of your xml. If you don't know these settings you can find them by doing this.
* While in Windows click on the Start button. Then click Run.
* Type in cmd then press enter. This will open a command window.
* In the window type in ipconfig /all. This will give you the IP settings of your PC.
* Now put the required gateway,dns1, and dns2 setting in the avalaunch.xml.
* Copy over the xml document to your xbox's HD
is this correct why do i need 2 nic cards for avalaunch to access the internet ?........i have a crossover cable and ics setup on my pc ...why cant i download ?........
