Post subject: Aladdin Live problems

Hi,

I have 1.6 box, installed Aladin Live but having problems like blinking or flashin many diferent colours out of my power button. Like red, green, yellow.
Looks to me that I have soldered it out good enough.
What I have done is I have removed evrything what I have done. Now my box is working well.
But this evening I have try again to install the chip and whola same problem same issue.
I have followed the installation guide from http://www.nordicimport.com/images/16installed.JPG for my 1.6v.

Question:
Should I follow this instructions http://www.chipzone.com/installation/xbox/aladdinlive/V16/16.jpg
since the one is not working for me.
I have manged to flash bios with supplied programmer but when it comes to verifying it drops down. It says on programmer use write bios and that should be it but then it goes to a verifying mode and it gives me an error :0x00000 which I dont now what it means but assume that it's fine not shure.
I can not see any damage on my box form soldering but I have removed the chip and wires and only thing what's left is pin set soldered on my box, is it possible that my box will not start now in a normal boot just because I left the pin set soldered without chip.
Thanks

First of all, did you get the lpc rebuild board with it? Did you fit it?

Also check you memory chips, if they are smasung then thats fine, if they are hynix then you have a 1.6b, and you will need the m8 plus bios beta 4.

Also the aladdin programmer is a pile of cack, if it's giving an error then it is quite possible that is whats causing your problem, a bad bios will make the eject led's flash.

So it could be bios, soldering, or a 1.6b

M8 is meant to work on a 1.6 to allow you to boot, but I have had afew that would'nt

Yes I did get one and did fit in!. Memory chis samsung confirmed checked.
I have tried to install M8+ previously tried to install m8 and bouth of them gaved me the same message, I have to say that from variety of different sources downloaded same m8+ and m8 so bealive that it can not be that I have corrupted bios version since I have tried all of them, they do give me same error message. but who knows you can never be shure 100%. Thinks that maybe there is a bug in a proggramer. I have added the wire from 25 point on a programmer and BT on a chip so no problems detecting the chip even writing the bios, only problem I have come up with is verifying installation of a new bios. It though gives me no name of a bios in a label where it's supposed to give me one but assume that's fine.

Question more, can it be that because of installed pin set I can not get my box to boot up normaly. What I mean is I have left hole pin set soldered on the machine and now I can not get my XBOX to boot normaly it still gives me a flashing lights on a power button green, yellow, red etc.
Thanks

Hiya

The pinheader will make no difference at all

It must be a bad trace or some other solder problem

Tha may be your problem or faulty chip/programmer

Yer man is right, the ALaddin programmer is a pile of cack, it's too slow and if you don't close most apps on your PC esp Messenger, it gives too many errors.
I have made an EvoX iso for flashing any Aladdin chip, Live XT, Live+, XT+ and even all those copies... Look in the downloads section on this forum if you require it.
Simply burn onto CDRW and boot a modded XBox with this CD in it, then choose flash BIOS. I recommend AladdinRed for 1.0 - 1.5 and Yosh or Yoshihiro for any 1.6. They are flawless and have the best boot up animations.
Sorry to say guys but a lot of M8's are just cack also. Reflash your chip with the aladdin Programmer, close all your other programmes and don't worry about the error at the end, as long as the boxes are green it is ok.
Use the bios on www.aladdinlive.com/mod don't worry that it says Beta, I have used this bios in well over 100 machines since December.

However your problem could also be your pin connections. Bad connections also give blinking lights. But as you've double checked it's probably not that.
