Hi there,

I got this one about 7 months ago. I will be honest about this... after ordering, it was delivered about 2 months later.

When i did get it, it didnt work properly on my 19" SVGA monitor ( i remembered the monitor was repaired at one point), so i tested it on my friends 17" monitor and it worked perfectly. That was the last i used it.

Halo looked incedible. There is so much more in the backround.

The XVGA Box is similair to the well known Dreamcast VGA Box.
Connectors: 1x XBox
1x SubD (VGA)
1x Analog Audio (Stereo)
1 x optical Digital TosLink.

The PAL XBox automatically recognizes the X-VGA Box and games start directly in 480p. The main Dashboard will not be visible, since it is not VGA compatible. Therefore, standard adjustments have to be made via a conventional Video cable.

VGA support depends on the games. At the moment, nearly all released games support the VGA mode. In the US, 99% of all games support 480p / VGA, since it is part of the official HDTV standard of the XBox.

Some american games like Dead or Alive 3, Azurik or Nascar Heat even support 16:9 VGA. When using a 16:9 Monitor/Projector/VGA-Television, you can enjoy widescreen VGA ! Unfortunately, the PAL Machine does NOT support 16:9 VGA at all.

Other available VGA Boxes like the Redant VGA Box for example do not take advantage of the 480p signal of the X-Box. These devices just convert the normal S-Video signal to VGA (simple linedoubling). This results in a poor picture quality compared to real 480p.

Make me a reasonable offer and its yours... it costs $120AU ($89US)

Hi forahobby,

Yes, i still have it (question from PM).

You can see the model here..http://www.digital-x.de/NEWS/xvga_box_order/xvga_box_order.htm]DX-VGA Box.
The website is at the bottom of the first page.

The DX-VGA Box has a VGA port, Optical cable output(audio) and a AV-out (this is to make adjustments to the XBox dash that is not 480p compatible and also another sound output). It is the PAL version. I have the instructions they sent with it.

I havent tested it on a plasma screen (it would be amazing..). I got blown away on a normal VGA monitor using Halo (480p Game).

The DX-VGA Box costs ($120AU at that time) $89US with shipping. The shipping took about 2months. Going by todays rate a new one would cost about $115AU.

Damn this is hard, i want to give you a good deal but i dont want to loose too much money...how does $85AU (includes shipping) sound to you.

Let me know... Very Happy
