Unless you have previously soft-modded the xbox you want to have that chip installed before you attempt to send over thoes dashes. Have you softmodded you box?

I dunno, maybe im not understanding you right. Could you clarify this passage for me, Im thiking you are saying you havnt installed the chip yet.
But if you have installed the chip, and already have EvoX installed and working you want to pick up a program like FlashFXP. Personally I use Internet Explorer, but I promise you will get better results from Flash FXP.
Connet the the xbox's FTP server by ttyping the address of the server in the connect menu of FXP. The address is found in your dashboard's settings menu. Usually the login is "xbox" and pass: "xbox".
Skins are commonly placed in the "C:\skins"
Also you can solve allot of headaches by using the Autoinstaller deluxe to install your emulators.
Keep this in mind, this happened to me, it may not happen to you:
I have had times where files didnt copy from the DVD drive properly. You find these when none of the emulators, skins, or what not (or some) dont work or wont work properly.
What I did was open up a ftp connection and then opened the temp file made by the unpacker for the Auto installer deluxe. I would then copy the files to the xbox from thoes directories, just make sure they are no longer zipped.
I have always gotten a better file transfer via-FTP rather than any other method.
good luck!
PS. Consider putting your xbox version, chip type, and whatever other info that might be helpful to us into your signature. Dont look at mine as an example cause I havent started modding this new one yet, but look thru some of the other posts and youll see a good example.
Your sig can be cahnged in your profile menu _________________ -Scourge "Rx = +/_\"

I’m going to say this as nice as I can. Unfortunately text doesn’t carry voice tone too well. I’m having a little trouble reading your posts. Consider proofreading them before you submit them, or even easier, copy and paste it to M$ Word and let it do the proofreading for you. I’m no English teacher, in fact, I dislike the subject. I’m trying to help but I’m having trouble reading your posts. I’m going to list some things that I (or anyone reading this thread that would like to hop in and help) need clarified.
Did you chip your Xbox or did someone do it for you?
I ask this because you say your Xbox was done 3 months after release date. So I’m guessing your running an Xbox 1.0. But it’s important to know what kind of chip you have. If you contact the person who chipped the box for you I’m sure he/she will gladly tell you what type they installed.
We need to know your EvolutionX BIOS version.
Keep in mind there are two different kinds of EvoX, the BIOS and Dashboard. If you get them mixed up don’t feel bad, it took me about 3 days to figure out the difference between the two when I was just getting into this. To my knowledge there isn’t an EvoX 2,4. Do you mean 2.4? The comma makes it seem like you have both 2 and 4, in the case of a Xenium that is possible. Consider looking at your BIOS version one more time. And if it really is that low of a number you may want to update it. Evox M7 or M8 are good choices.
What kind of cable did you buy? And what kind of network are you running?
Are you connecting your PC directly to the Xbox?
If so you need what’s called a crossover cable, you can buy those from your favorite Xbox stuff retailer. It’s the one that allows two Xboxes to be attached directly to each other.
Or do you have a home network?
If you have a home network (using a router or hub) you need a standard CAT5 cable, easily found at any office supply or computer parts store (possibly the same place you get your Xbox stuff).
You said something about an error... What is the error?
For future reference it helps us all for you to describe any error you get as best as possible. This helps me and other people looking in to solve your problem. I’m more of a hardware guy because I study electronics in school, so I can only help to a point. But there are plenty of software gurus that hang out in this community that will chime in if they are provided with the right info. This also helps others that might have the same problem as you in the future. That way they can type the error they have into the Forum search and get an answer by reading from this thread.
Hook us up with your PC's network IP and your Xbox's IP.
The Xbox IP is easy to find.
To get your PC's IP click Start -> Run then type "cmd" (without quotes) and press Enter.
In the command prompt screen type "ipconfig"
It should list your IP there.
Now test if you can ping you Xbox.
Take your Xbox's IP address and type the following command into the command prompt window on your PC.
ping [insert Xbox IP here]
Example:
ping 192.168.1.3
Do you time out or get a response?
And remember; try not to get too frustrated with your project. That’s when we all make our worst mistakes. We were all noobs once; I was an Xbox modding newb about a month and a half ago. Though I’ve been modding and building electronics a long time before that. I jumped into this scene thinking I had it whipped... Only to be put in my place. The only way to cure noobness is to read read read. Tutorials are da poop. I have 2 binders full of hardcopies of various tutorials concerning the chip I use and apps I have. In all the schools Ive been to printing is covered in the technology fee. So I abuse the privlage and print out stacks of tutorials! Eh, Im using them to learn right?
Anyways that’s my 2 dollars worth (I think that’s like a pound to you)
