Hi people,
2 months ago I got a new, chipped xbox with aladin advance and xecuter2 bios. Then I installed Evox 2.6, everything was fine, I played for quite a long time.
15 days ago I left home and just came back, I turn on the xbox and I only get the original dashboard, and no access to the chip (when I boot I always see "Microsoft" written, even if I bootthe chip, which used to prompt the "XECUTER2" on the screen).
What could have gone wrong? Nobody touched the console, it sat 15 days untouched.
Could this by any means be related to the evox installation? If so, how can I put everything back to how it was? (ie, no evox)
Thanx for your help!
Miguel

Well, one of two things. Either your D0 wire came undone for whatever reason and your xbox doesnt realize it's chipped, or you are booting incorrectly.
I have never used that chip, but ins't there two ways to boot your xbox. If you hold in a certain button it boots with chip, if you dont it boots to MS Bios??

Hi ModGod,
Yes, if you just press the power button, it goes to the Ms Bios, if you hold it for 1 second, it boots with the chip. I have been doing it well so far, so I know how to boot the xbox. Guess it is a loose wire somewhere out there? The chipped xbox is still in warranty (from the guys who chipped) so they should correct it...
Any other ideas?
Thanx mate.

My only thought then is that the D0 has come loose. The D0 connection is what tells your machine to look to the LPC for the chip. Without a D0 connection your machine is booting to the MS Bios.
The only other thing, and this is a long shot, is if the D0 is okay and your chip is booting up, for some reason the bios on it is no longer pointing to your hacked dashboard, only the MS Dashboard. But for that to have happened you would have had to flash your chip. So, I am leaning to the D0 theory.

I just ran the Slayer's EvoX autoinstaller, I don't believe that the chip's bios was flashed by no means.
Is this D0 connection easy to come apart? very strange... is there a way I can easily tell if that is the problem? (opening the box, looking where?...)
thanx

Hiya
it could also be the BT, without it it won't boot the chip, there should only be a max of 4 wires coming off the chip, just check all 4.

You will need two torx bits or drivers....size 10 and 20.
Also, you probably see the two screws that need to come out, but there are four more under the little rubber feet. Just peel the corners back until you see the screw, about half way.

Just got the box opened, and took some pics! I will post them asap.
The D0 connection doesn't look the same as the others, but I don't know much about this. You will see...

eek...next time size your pics down a little...too hard to see what is what..
The only thing I don't like is the use of tape to hold the wires in the mobo holes...
I really cant see under the tape, so I don't know if the D0 is okay. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

sorry about pic size, I guessed it should have some resolution.
The D0 is the wire that goes to the right and then up, on the last pic, right? Should I untape the parts and then take another pic? What do you think about the visible connection on the chip itself?

I think I found the culprit
Just undid the tape, and...
don't know if it was me untaping, I dont think so.
Now all I have to do is resolder that! I have no experience at it, I will practice on something else before.
big thanks to custom-xmodz for helping me out in this last part of the quest
Any more tips? I will check some tutorials at xboxscene

UPDATE:
It is working!!!
What I did:
decided to solder the alternative point, in the back of the mobo (easier).
first try: i put a little too much solder, the adjacent point was also soldered, then i had to take it off . resoldered, doesnt look too professional, but the chip is now booting!!!
What do you think?
