hi, i know that it is such a newb problem but i have no where else to turn, lol. i just installed a xecuter 3 chip on my v.1.1 box and i have loaded up to the flashbios 3.0.1 screen. i have the x3_1959 bios and i can get to to load from the disc but after flashbios shuts down it reboots twice and on the third reboot it starts fragging. what is my problem? thank you for any input.
ps. i can still use the xbox when the chip is off without problems

Check all your solder connections and make sure you didn't get any solder splash causing a short circuit. If you did, use the copper braid to remove any extra solder.
Also make sure you have the right banks selected when flashing, and that BOTH flash protection switches are set to off (There's one on the chip and one on the external switch, if you installed it).
Also check that you got the correct version of X3-1959. There are two versions: One for v1.0-1.5 systems, and one for v1.6 systems.

What puzzles me is you get the flash bios screen. I would think that if it was a chip placement issue, then it should frag prior to even getting the flashbios screen...correct?
I have only installed a couple of the X3's, but with the tons of other chips that I have installed that have their own OS like the X3, I never get to the chips OS if it's a bad solder.
Strange issue. Try a the 1957 bios for shits and giggles and see what happens. I wonder if the bios that you are installing is corrupt.

Im going with either a corrupt bios or wrong switch setup.
Can you boot ok from the backup bios? power then eject
ok, i've got a new bios and sometimes i get this screen
but it keeps freezing half way and some times i get this screen
i'm still not sure what is going on, i hope this brings some more insight on this problem p.s. both lights are lit on the chip ( i don't know if this matters) _________________ Xbox V1.1

Have you seen my quick reference for flahing X3 chips?
Great news! i flashed my box with x3 1957. I used the flash via http method and it worked the first try. i don't know why it wouldn't flash via disc. thanks for all of your help and support. this truly is one of the best xbox mod sites on the internet. _________________ Xbox V1.1

Glad you got it working. I sorta figured it had to be bios related since you could get to the flash bios screen.
You should download our version of the 1959 bios. I would now go ahead and try flashing that bios. The 1959 did address some bugs that the 1957 still had so you should at least try to get the latest X3 bios running.
I am betting the one you downloaded from a warez site was garbage. Let me know if you have a problem with ours.
