I have recently installed ltools_007_v1.7.5 on my xbox. I was also wanting to install a larger HD on this soft-mod, hence I ordered and have received a 120GB Maxtor HD. I had read "from another site" that I could use xboxhdm_v1.9 tp accplish this task. I then ftp'd my eeprom and necessary partitions to their proper place and ran an .exe that took these files and put them in an .iso to burn to a cd-rw. I used Nero burning Rom 6.6.0.1 "Burn Image To Disk" button and burned to CD_RW & aCD_R , as well. I then set the jumpers and IDE cable to Primary Master for new HD and changed my boot setup to boot to the DVD-RW/CD_RW drive. From here, the program is suppose to load and install everything on my new HD and after reboot I am suppose to able to lock this drive with same program. It will not boot up this application. I am quite sure my hardware is setup correctly because when I put in my Windoze Recovery Cd it does boot.

a.Could it be the media?, I used Memorex
b.Could it be my bios doesn't allow me to boot to non-orignal media?
c.That my firmware on the drive is needing to be updated to do this?
2.
Would it be easier or even possible to start over with your programs and assistance?

That disk should be bootable, as is, it seems that it may have not burned correctly so I'm not sure. It is possible that it is a media issue, but normally that isn't a big deal with a PC. If you can boot to the recovery cd-rom I would try to reburn the disk. Just incase you want to try a different download of xboxhdm_1.9 you can go here and get it from our servers.
I recommend using this program, and it seems that you have everything done correctly. Some more information about how to do this as soon as you boot into the media.
You will auto boot into the program. Then just have to hit 1 to choose to go into the VGA console mode. Then it will as you to type "xboxhd" to create the new hard drive. You will then need to choose, "create xbox drive from scratch" it will ask you all sorts of questions about partitioning and formatting, then eventually ask you to copy over the c and e folders. You will need to type "yes" not just "y" to continue when it asks these questions.
After it copies both folders, just type "reboot" and the system will restart. You then will need to choose option 3 (linux lock and unlock drive tools) Then just type lockhd, this will use the eeprom you put on the disk, and will make the hard drive bootable. it will also set a default password as xboxscene just incase you have problems you can always use that passworld. My recommendation is to write down the code also.
That should get you working, as long as you can boot off the disk. _________________
