Ok so I am pretty new to the xbox testing! Been doing sattelites for years so I figured why not try the xbox...the more knowledge I can attain the better I am. So my problem is when I loaded the slayers evox auto installer onto my XBOX HD it loaded a ton of apps. When I try to access them from the evox dash it just freezes in the loading screen. Another problem (not sure if I am even going the right way about this) when I insert a game in the dvd drive and I am connected via FTP I cannot see anything listed. How would I go about transferring games from disc via FTP to my PC. Sorry about all the questions but I spent hours on it last night and could not get it to work

I don't know much about the first part about the apps not working, but if I am correct the computer won't show the files since they are not in PC format but XBOX. If I'm wrong, shoot me. The disk part... personally you are going about it the hard way and I'm not sure it can even be done. What I do is bring the game on to the hard disk via Evox, THEN ftp it over to the PC.

Ok I understand what you are saying..the only problem is how do I get the files to my xbox hdd do I use dvd2xbox via evox? this is where I am having the problem. thanks for the quick reply

sorry but I'm still new to this....do I load dvd2xbox via ftp because the one that loaded with evox is unaccesable? Do I put it in the c: or E: drive. And last but not least how do I go about launching it. _________________ XBOX V1.5

Crap, I forgot about that part. If all was good, then you would just simply go over to dvd2xbox, put the disk in and drop it in to the HDD. If you haven't been able to boot after slayers from the get go, I would try reloading it again. Perhaps it's something to do with the formatting of the drive? ok so I did some more research...I was following through the evox for dummies tutorial. in the .ini file do I have to specifically point the dvd2xbox to its location or should it already be pointed to the proper app.
That will only work if you have files named Applications and dvd2xbox
which means if you have other things in your Applications folder they wont show either. Try changing the file name to "Apps"
Or if it already is then you need this in your ini
Section "Apps"
Item "DVD2XBOX","E:\Apps\dvd2xbox\default.xbe"
AutoAddItem "e:\apps\"
AutoAddItem "f:\apps\"
SortAll
}
Also your DVD2Xbox folder has to be on teh E:\ partition. _________________

I will try this soon as I get home from work. Is there any reason inparticular why the evox auto installer doesn't allow any of the apps to load without the extra string added into the .ini? and why if not aren't they all made like that since the apps are loaded with the auto installer anyways? _________________ XBOX V1.5

Oh hell, you were using the auto installer here and not "Slayers Xbox auto installer V2.6". I got ya. I didn't use the auto installer here, I used Slayers and it sets all that up for you. It also gives you Avalaunch which I don't think the auto installer here currently does. Sorry about that...

The 2 times I have had this same thing happen it was due to a bad burn of the disk. I re-downloaded to be sure and reburned again. Installed using the AI and all was good. Could reach all apps. Might want to give this a try as well if the above does not work. _________________ GTGene
