Hi, im a newbie at x-box modding, and i realy need help on this one...
I instaled my Super Aladdin Live Mod Chip on my 1.4 ver. X-box.
I've double checked the conections.
The chip has an extra conection D0, L1, L2, Bt and X. (X is not conected)
I dont know if i have to connect it somewere or just leave-it. I also dont know if the chip is programmed or if it's empty.
CHIP's Behaviour: (acording to mode)
1 - quick press - chip of - Everything normal (MSDash, playing, etc... just flashes red and green on boot up then it stay's green)
2 - 1 sec press - chip on - Led blinks (green, red) then goes of, i can hear the fan going of the dvd stopping. then it boots up completly normal as if the chip was disabled, but i have to insert date and time as if it was the first time i turned it on.
- same old MSDash
- no evox symbol
(IS THIS NORMAL ?)
3 - 5 sec press - chip flash mode - does the same as in 1 sec press the led blinking and the dvd and fan stopping once while i'm stil pressing the button and then it goes of and on again by itself, no image apear, so far so good, but the dvd tray wount come out, not even if i press the eject button.
I'm a little afraid of programing it without knowing is it's ok?
I also dont know what bios to install. if it works !?!?
HELP ME PLEASE !!!! i didn't sleep all night trying to solve this...

Welcome to Xbox-Hq Mate!
If your modchip is installed correctly and your xbox is booting with the modchip enabled (holding for 1-2 seconds) then really you could test burning a .iso to a DVD-R or CDRW and boot it.. Some bioses dont have any indication that they are active! I know my old bios didnt have any indication at all when it was ON! (you might want to download a autoinstaller.. You will need it anyway)
Where did you purchase your modchip from.. Did they say it would be flashed or did they say it will have the CROMWELL BIOS on it?
EVOX:
Just becasue you installed a modchip does not mean you will get another dashboard or any other apps on your xbox.. You will have to install them yourself..
BUT, thats where the XBOXHQ AI will help you! You just download and burn to a DVD-R/CDRW and boot in your xbox with your modchip working.
Then follow the tutorial with screenshots to install dashboards, media players (mp3, xvid, divx etc) and more..
Im only guessing your problems at this stage mate and hoping that gives you some ideas..

THAT THING IS GETTING WORSE EVERY TIME I TRY SOMETHING...
Before i read your post, i took the chip out, and tryed to program-it with its own programmer, but the software didn't recognise the chip. I tryed to change the LPT port settings in my computer's bios and i got it to work. (for 5 to 10 minutes aniway). The software detected the chip i had it reading the bios on the chip to back it up, but it never finihsed doing, i left for a while and when i got back the software was frozen. and it never worked again. I installed it back on the Xbox and when i press the power button for 5 sec to get it in flash mode, the xbox boots up as if no chip installed, instead of that no video signal crap. all the rest is the same.
I didn't remove any wires from the xbox, everithyin is conected exacly as it was before, i dessoldered D0, L1, L2 and BT to remove the chip and i putted it back as it was.
I called the support number from the web page i got it from (www.modzone.com) and they said there are known issues about the SAL programmer (20% of the customers complaint about this) but they are unable to reproduce the problem, because chips and programers that get returned for technical support work just fine when they get there.
I have to be doing something wrong, but what ??????
I've double checked everyhing.
Can someone tell me what that 'X' pin is doing there, it doesn't show up on any of the schematics i'vbe seen!!?!?!?!?!
I've downloaded and just finished recording an autoinstaller.
I'm about to see if it works, but somehow i don't expect it does.
The results are coming soon...

whats the fix?? my chip is doing ALMOST the same thing.
I think the chip is overheating or something, ifits been off a while, it will work jsut fine. if i turn it off and back on no matter how i turn it on (quick press 1 sec 2 sec etc.) the LED goes green and boots to MSDASH. if i leave it off a long time it will work again. (my whole box is about to hit the wall.) i will say i'm never using aladdin again. i've got a friend that has modded tons of boxes with the executer chips and never had this problem.
how the hell do i fix this????

Hi, in my case, it was doing that because the chip wasn't programmed.
I couldn't program myne, some incompatibility with my computer's LPT, i tryed changing options in the bios(computer), but nothing, the programmer just didn't work on my pc, the resseler told me 30% of the customers who bought aladdin chips had the same problem,so i bought another chip.
Have you programmed your aladdin ??
you didn't explain that.
If you have it programmed, then check your solder points to D0, and the resistors near the power button conections.
