So before i go back to hot swapping I want to give this one last try. I've tried multiple installers on multiple xboxes and still have not gotten any to work.
Using the splinter cell save, i've tried SID 5.12 and I just get a black screen when i load the save. SID 5.11 gets to the softmod menu then when i try to backup eeprom it goes to black screen. Babylon gives me a white screen, babylonGS goes to the unleash dash then goes into a reboot loop.
Just tried another xbox with 5.11 and hit backup eeprom and it hangs on loading please wait...

I've read about this sort of problem with Splinter Cell for years.
The first thing to check is that you're using either all PAL or all NTSC Xbox/SC version/game saves. Apparently you can't mix any part of the system up so even though SC PAL will boot quite happily on a NTSC Xbox whatever game save region you use will not work.
If it is not that; I've had this myself when I was testing, for informational purposes, just to see whether I could stuff up one of my Xboxes with a dashupdater and then recover it. I had a safety net in that I was using a spare softmodded HDD and had the original softmodded HDD as backup.
Fixing it was not as easy as I hoped with exactly the same sort of issues described when trying to load SC Checkpoints.
In the end I had to use 007 AUF instead of SC and entailed finding and buying the version required. It worked and the installer dash loaded and the softmod installed first time but I would not want to go through that again.
My guess is that SC either leaves its old TDATA folder or CACHE files even when you uninstall the two game saves. So if you used the wrong version originally or there is are old SC softmod files on the Xbox that might be what causes the problem. But this is just speculation.
