About a month ago, I was in exloring the files in my 120GB Softmodded Xbox in the XBMC prorgram. Yes just going through stuff clicking to see what worked - total idot.
Yes I didn't know what would happen. But I went into E drive, I saw MS and Mod, I went to Mod. I clicked on something and a new dash that looks like the UnleashX dash came up.
I found a menu, I saw select game - pressed A - in an instant I saw: Deleting E......files.
Turned Xbox off. Got a error screen. Walked out of the room.
Turned it on next week. Booted to teh Original Dashboard asking for the Date and Time - I als unplug my device from the power when not using them.
It was playing the Original Time Splitters 3 game AND THANKFULLY loading my save files! It also ran my burnt game of Yu-Gi-Oh!
So it was working, just not booting my XBMC softmod - Via the controller button trick or on instant on boot up- which I only had a few games I didint already have the Disc for, which I relied on playing from the Harddrive Directly.
And yes, of course, curious me wanted to get back my softod working as it did...for the sake of it *sigh*.
Went to a friends house, opened my xbox up. Tried booting the drive with xbxhdm - he didint let me do anything he did it all. And well long story short, we used his Slayer Disc. Tried xbxhdm. Even though he dirfectly tried to boot the harddrive without it still connected to the xbox itself as he claims it'll recognize it with its exploited software and all that.
So now I ave a Error code 5. And Im looking at a Tutorial I will post a link to it ina second. But now I want to try and save my Save files - mainly Yu-Gi-Oh - and do a fresh clean install of the Dashboard and softmods and all that.

I am most certain it has a mod chip of some sort. It also has auto installer saved on it and was still bootable on the HArddrive as Splinter Cell was saved on the Harddrive.

I am lookign fro instructions on lockign or unlocking whatevrer I can do to help my situation. My xbox is opened up already. And I have a old computer with Windows XP and Sata and IDE connectors

I am also very interested in using Skype to help me with ym situation.

ALSO My friend fiddled with the IDE switches near the cables at the back that change its function. I see SLave, MAster or SIngle drive, limit hdd to 32GB ect. I wll post some pictures.

I really really hope someone replies! And much apppreciated.

Here is the link I want to follw. It unpluds the DVD drive to get a different code which unlocks the Harddrive, and I connect it to my computer to access my Game saves.
And could I copy over my games or soemthing to add to my XBXHDM CD?

Your HDD must be set to C/S Cable select to use in an Xbox.
If you got Error 5, your HDD is not Eeprom key locked to the Xbox.

If you have the Eeprom for that Xbox you can use XboxHDM
The best thing to do is to rebuild the HDD from scratch
now that it is unlocked.

FTP your games to the Xbox with a Xover cable(PC to Xbox)
Next time the Xbox don't load, Try to cold boot an installer disc to fix Dash.

@KenM-64 thanks for replying.

I have no idea how I will get my Eeprom for my xbox. I honestly think thats the bit that got deleted maybe?
What do you mean my harddrive must be set to C/S cable?

I will try to load my Harddrive with Xporler360 to hopefully save from Game Saves on my computer.

If I cannot, I will try to get XBXHDM to work for me, I now remeber the XBXHDM program saying it couldn't like read it or rebuild it maybe it needed a password I can't really rememebr exactly.

Im hoping to follow this tutorial: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html
Mainly step 11 - I will take a photo and follow it while using XBXHDM.
But if I choose to rebuild the xbox froms cratch, yes I loose everything correct? Im really only concerned about my games Saves.

Hopefully I don't get suck. But as I said, I wished someone would temporarily SKype with my to be my guardian angel watching over me as I will more than likely screw up time and time again.

Im gonna see if I get a different Error code when I pull the DVD cable out.

The picture of your Hard drive for jumper settings you must be enable cable select for use in Xbox.
When making hard drive in PC set to master.

I have my Eeprom for my Xbox backed up in three places.
You can buy an Eeprom reader cable to read Eeprom in any Xbox.

Ok so today I pulled out a old computer from school that had a IDE connection on the motherboard. I pulled out the DVD cable int he xbox and got a error code 7? Maybe I pulled out the IDE cable for both DVD and Harddrive lol Can't remeber...

Anyway, I scan the computer for new devices in Device mangement, loaded Xplorer360 and got it working and I could see 5 partitions. I Began to copy over (extracting was the option) over to my desktop partitions 3, 4 and 5.

And I copied them over to my 32gb USB as well.

Here is a pic of my Harddrives contents. I found the eeprom thing. Im not 100% on what to do but I predict I'll be burning another Xbxhdm disc with my files on it right?

Im not oo sure on what to put where, so I think this is the next step for me.

And I realized in UDATA folder it had my game saves. So I backed them up, and now If I build it froms ctach, I can just dump them all back in againn? Or is there a program I can read which files of game saves I wnat back in case I copy over the previous Linux softmod save that booted in SplinterCell?

And when Im using xbxhdm I gotta set the harddrive to master slave thing, before I turn the xbox on? Or as the xbox boots a error 12, then change it while its still powered in the xbox?

This is really helping a lot.

EDIT
there is a 5th partition with the Slayers instrall and it moved my Saved whole xbox original games to its GAMES directory from my other softmod lol.

READ THIS!!!
I found the contents I need to lock my Harddrive so now I need to use the lcoking tool on xbxhdm to lock my harddrive again, then use th eslayers disc to format the drive,a nd do a complete new install of a softmod setup. then FTP all my save files over...I think I got this.

Just that I egt the error code 5 when my xbox is plugged up normally.
SO now I need to lock it and I hope there's a video or someone to tell me exact properp steps to set it up on the Linux files when I burn the disc.

i also 2 other eeprom files. But for sure I just drag the files int he picture in the xbxhdm folder called - eeprom. And when I run the CD - its should just read those files and set it up right?

help. LOL.
