Microsoft unveiled the next-generation Xbox 3 this week which shocked most of the homebrew community. It's going to be screwed up trying to search for Xbox 1 (original) stuff. Soon we will all be getting nothing but the next gen console. Maybe that was Microsoft's plan all along huh? What do you think of the new name? I think someone needs to be shot in their marketing department! _________________ HQ Network:

^^ not phased or worried!
NEVER have i heard of the "xbox" referred to as "xbox one" just the usual "xbox original" terms! (there is the "PSone but the distinction was easy to differentiate from the "psx"....both play the same games but the "psx" was more stable than that cheap knockoff "PSone")
.........
nahh, if i see any posts asking for assistance with the "xbox one" (not "xbox original" as it usually is, i'll settle for "xbox MK-I" as that gets used!) i ignore them entirely!
........
too old-school to change now! (then again, your best xbox dev here would likely say the same) _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

It's going to be more annoying to search for "xbox 1" when I meant original xbox. I really having to hate typing out o-r-i-g-i-n-a-l xbox instead of just xbox 1. Just a stupid name. Stupid stupid.
Then again if you read wikipedia the marketing people there though "xbox" was a bad name for a video game console. I think it's bad ass.
Microsoft's business is just copying other people's stuff, making it cheaper while looking really uncool and dorky at the same time. Zune anyone?

Are you trying to confuse people by posting about the XBOX One on an XBOX1 site Hobbs?
Im with Halofan the name is bullshit. Its already bad enough when you search for XBOX stuff 3/4 of the results are for 360. This is just gonna make it a nightmare. Especialy for noobs who are just starting out and may not know specific keywords like SID, Aladdin, and Evox.

Glad to see someone sees where I'm coming from on this
The only realistic way people are going to find out about original xbox 1 modding is if they get curious like me and type something like "original xbox mod"
then they might see this great video that used SID like I did
Then branch out to XS, hq, afterdawn etc to learn more from people like SPPV. I was lucky enough to see an old thread on TIZ where SPPV was being real nice with a modding neophyte, then asked people on TIZ where he went and they pointed me here.
Edit: Damn how do you put those videos on a post again? Can't get the code syntax right lol

well, i stand alone! (i work better that way)
oh it's the STUPID "S" in the "https://" part of the address, SPPV educated me about that!
your syntax is bob-on but the pathway is obscured unless you know what to look for/get tipped off! (i've smashed a keyboard up because the solution wasn't at all obvious, no regrets!)

yours....

Ok no secure http (https) only http
Glad I got that straightened out. Now I can post that link for newcomers. My favorite mod tutorial video of all time, despite his use of the great, but obsolete AID. Still a decent summary of what's going on.
