Well guys after almost a decade of working on the XBOX Ive decided to pack it in. No more dev on XBOX, Im gonna release the last of what I have kicking on my HDD then thats all she wrote. If I happen to come across somebody I feel can pick up where I left off I will give them my source code for various apps. Still gonna be here like always just no more dev.
Have a good one guys

Ouch. Any reason why you decided to stop developing new programs? _________________

Its a thankless job, and the attitude of many people has made me quite bitter towards releasing new stuff. Past 5 or 6 apps when I release first thing is demands I change it to include something they want (not just politely asking) Demands I deviate from my release cycle and trying to tell me where I WILL upload my stuff. Refusal to follow included instructions then SPAM posting its a POS etc. The scene in very real way has been over run by trolls and users. And all it does is just make me madder so I decided whats best for me is to just quit, and the 95% users can live with the fact they screwed things for the 5% that actualy appreciate the work. And can go back to using out dated stuff

I can understand that completely. I've seen a lot of those posts around here lately and I honestly couldn't believe it. People that wanted to mod their Xbox in the past were a lot less rude in the past it seems. _________________

No worries Hobbs I'll still be around. Gonna back into cracking PC games, I hate haveing to put my disc in everytime I wanna play Might do some patching again to, get old games working on newer systems so people dont gotta waste money on the GOG editions when they have the original.

Do you know anything about porting games, to say, Linux? Having a native Linux version of Age of Empires 2 would be great, but I can't really find anything about porting a game to Linux on the net. _________________

Ive never really tried porting stuff to Linux outside of XBOX but Id be glad to give it a try. If nothing else I'll learn something from it. Most of my experience on PC games is with cracking them and writing patches for games unsupported on Win7. Been a while, will have to shake the cobwebs loose. Last patch I did was the Godfather patch to run on Win7 and that was like 3 or 4 years ago.
And Ive still got a few things I need to finish up on XBOX so a few gems are still coming like the XMV2WMV converter and Emu Installer 3.1 (covers the emus Ive been ignoring in previous releases) and an improved XBMC Installer (better menu setup and some tweaks to the modified XBMC Ive been including). Hate loose ends but things like the public key softmod, UnleashX.40 and memory page file mod are getting canned. Hopefully Cyber can finish the memory mod without me as it would help many when it comes to homebrew games etc.
